Let it Go

Picking scabs
forever keeping
the wound open
delaying only
the inevitable scar.

We don't know how to heal, do we?

You're the king of concise, Robert.

Robert~
Again bowing to your ability to
take a miniscule thought and magnify
it with so few words.
Does that make sense?
Reminds me of the effects of Haiku.
Loving your work.

to be human is to hurt.....to be human is to heal....or perhaps to be poetic is to feel way too much.....I am not sure any more.

I must wonder if any of us are ever really sure, Robert. Do we keep that wound fresh to remind us that we are alive? Excellent reflection, yet again.

Again thanks Claire and Ruth....

I believe that you may have touched on something Claire.....maybe we do keep the hurt alive to remind or as a memorial. Much to think on eh??

***Robert,
So concise, yet so moving.
Thankyou so much for echoing so much of me here in this poem.
