Years ago I committed a horrible crime
A crime for which I pay, for all time
I killed off my emotions one by one
Anger, Sadness, Hate, and Fun

No more was I to feel my life
I chose to end it to end my strife
No more happiness, no more rage
I locked them in an emotional cage

Now I am left an empty shell
Forever in my lonely hell
Emotions were a valuable friend
Upon which I didn't depend

Now I am searching for the key
To unlock the cage and set them free

Sorry for not being here very much in the last 4-5 days, life has been -REALLY- hectic. First tons of homework, then I went out with my friends a lot. Sorry to everyone who's poems I missed

I love that poem. I know how sometimes if you are busy you just live your life by the minute and forget about your feelings and emotions. good poem

This is a wonderful poem, as usual!

EXCELLENT POEM ...

A crime for which I pay, for all time

Anger, Sadness, Hate, and Fun

No more was I to feel my life
I chose to end it to end my strife
No more happiness, no more rage

very well written and expressed.. you still must have the emotions available to you...as your poetry is full of your heart,
very nice work, take care, jm

Do you live by the book, do you play by the rules
Do you care what is thought by others about you
If this day is all that is promised to you
Do you live for the present, the future the past...

That's a hard place to be my friend..  I did the exact same thing to my emotions at a very young age.  The worst of it - they still were there even if I never consciously felt them - and when the door opened one day the flood of what had been repressed nearly killed me... It still has it's effects today.  I can only urge you not to do the same by "conscious" decision.  If you ever need to "talk" remember I'm only an email away.

Lucius Cade- Ah, I wish it was that simple though, in my case, even when I want to feel emotions, it is near impossible to bring them up.

wayoutwalt- Heh, thanks, I will apologize though, because you guys are my family, and I dont like to be away from you for extended periods of time

LoveBug- Thankies

Poet deVine- Indeed, poetry is the only emotional outlet I seem to have, normal life fails to bring my emotions out.

dsnyder- Thanks Denise

Janet Marie- As I said in response to Poet deVine, poetry seems to be a sort of fluke when it comes to my emotions, it brings them up while nothing else can.

Michael- Yea, but the emotions have to come out sooner or later, preferably sooner...   I didnt do this intentionally, I just kept supressing my emotions because they usually caused my pain, and one day I noticed that I had stopped feeling them. sigh....

hoot_owl_rn- Thanks, you happen to know where the key might be?
