Here, Now, Forever

You think you have opened your eyes,
When you really have rendered them closed,
Caught up in the moment, you really dont know,
Just how long this riddle goes,

You say that everyone dies,
And people come and go,
So live for the day and not for the life,
I really dont care, you know.

Because in your mind, you will find,
You have left your soul behind,
In a clandestine destination
in this labrynth of life,
Abandoned without notice,
You continue to eat the lotus.
Deaf to your soul's own screams.
Thy body is hollowed not, however,
Tis filled with a writhing creature of the nether.
With racoon eyes, bloodshot and cold,
With trackmark arms, and others untold.
You are following a beaten path so old,
This isn't an adventure, you have lied.
Godamn it man, this is scuicide.

A scream of denial,
Of unheard pains.
Filling her soul time and again.
Who will will hear,
Does no one not see,
What the world around is doing to me.
I must stop the roars,
And the angry tears flow,
I find myself now with no where to go.
Temtation has called,
I have heeded it's call,
I know I am wrong but I can't stop it now.

I beg for forgiveness,
I plead for release,
For this pain I now hold,
That brings me down to my knees,
I beg for the help,
So plain and so clear,
Will no one please listen,
Is there no one to hear.

This isn't an adventure, you have lied
Godamn it man, this is suicide

You have told the story of thousands well, so true.

Drug addict..drug addict
feeding your monster at its will.
The thrill of drugs placed into your hands   needles, pipes, and pills.
Soon enough your fate will be revealed
those drugs that provided every thrill
now moving in for the kill.  James

I have lost friends to drugs.  Not because they have died but because I have lost their souls, thier personality, their love and their laughter.  They are so screwed up by drugs i don't even know them anymore.  It scares me because I am reality and they hate reality thats why they **** themselves up so much.

Very powerful.  I'm sure we can find someone we know or perhaps we see it in our past and can relate so painfully to your words.

This poem reminds me of my once best friend.  It brought tears to my eyes because it reminded me so much of her.  Very well done.
