The Pillow of You

Silence clings fast to the hours of the night
cloaked full in burgundy's droplets, sweet,
of a wine tasted once too often but still
before daybreak I'll drink my fill complete.

Tumbling words, spice~bound, into my lap
read fragrant soundings through til dawn.
I've heard many dreams speak, but if you please,
ease the pillow of you, my weary head upon.

Dear LadyClaire

Oh Claire, the feeling of this...has no name, except it touched me...and the last line is sublime!

simply pure perfection...
when your pen puts down emotions seen thru your heart's eyes...perfection is the gift.

I don't know if I can adequately explain this, but I find myself unable to select a favorite line or phrase because this exquisite work is an entirety unto itself.

Soft and beautiful words, Meadowmuse.  In a word, exquisite.

Claire ... reading your writing is becoming an addiction ... worse than chocolates

A heart embraced in soft warm,
Is likely to give in return,
To those who give of this billow warmth,
There's nothing to describe it's feeling or perfection.

(Your poem described so well how I believe many wish they could feel.  Marvelous)
