Empty Memories

An empty page
  Before me lays
   As in my mind
    Your memory plays
     And all the while
    My beating heart
  Its frantic rhythm
Does impart
  I raise my weapon
   Lofty pen
    Place it on
     The pad and then
    Begin to write
   Of you and I
  Quickly now
As memories die
  In no time
   Before me lays
    A vision of
      Once better days
    Bled from my heart
   To ink of pen
  From mind to paper
And back again

< !signature-->

There are only two ages of people...living and dead and you all look about the right age to me

Hoot,
I want to thank you for the great comment you gave my poem earlier.  It made me feel really good.  I haven't put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) for anything other than to write COBOL in far too long.  I want to say that it feels really great to get it all out again.  And your poem is one of the best I have ever read.  My favorite line:
     "memories to paper
    and back again".

Nothing could be more true!

Perfection of pen from our Queen of poetry.
Hoot, I love your poetic rhythm & rhyme, and all the other expressions that make you one of the best.

Hoot~
Now this is scrumptiously formatted
and laced with the sweetest sentiment
I've seen.

Your pen holds much magic.
I am in awe of your ever-increasing talent.
