Could Be Anywhere...

Bittersweet

My darling, oh my lost darling...
I remember your laugh, your smile.
I see your beauty, laughing with glee
as we played, once so youthfully.

The tears and anguish, like the tide
wash through me with vengeance.
I’m so sorry, my love; even consumed
why did you have to leave so soon?

Thinking we had all eternity
our plans secure within tomorrow.
Yesterday destroying, today so alone
touching your things in our empty home.

Why God, why do You hate me this much?
I scream into the gale till no more will come.
I kneel in the sand, wracked with my grief
your smile, your laughter; echo bittersweet.
