Your Destiny Is Love

Flown ‘cross a verdant meadow
     Into the midnight sea,
Some lonely winds come calling
     To whisper me a dream.

Their echoed voice is thunder
     with tones of black and grey;
‘Neath western skies they're grieving
     O'er human heart of clay.

They bow my soul in sorrow
     dip tears into the sand;
Chase ‘way all hues of laughter
     creating "nothing-land."

Make the greensward which I roam
     ~utmost desolation~
Match the emptiness inside,
     My vile desecration.

Then their voice changes to hope,
     sing futures gaily spun.
Of woodlands; savage beauty,
     A new life just begun.

In poised commiseration,
     they speak to me that love-
Is what dreamers truly reach,
     Not something they dream "of."

And like the mountains clip the sky,
     The winds caress my mind;
In pictures of a lady
     with ocean eyes a-shine.

Shimmering in the sunlight,
     her hair a golden sheen,
Cascades down iv'ry skin
     A calm, idyllic scene.

And then through the vision's peace
     She reaches out to me.
And the winds nudge at my back,
     With smiles so bright in glee.

Hand in hers, feet in the grass,
     I turn to thank the winds.
But their whisp'red voice is gone
     to others who've been rent.

Their absence leaves a silence
     inside the skies above.
But emptiness is full now,
     With the fervor of my love.

 "I don't claim to be a wise man, a poet or a saint.
Just another man who's searching for a better way.
But my heart beats loud as thunder for the things that I believe.
Sometimes I want to run for cover, sometimes I want to scream."

Oh there you go gettin all mushy on me again.  I see I am gonna have to drive up there and smack some sense into ya again....and soon!

Honestly, Chris, this blew me away.  You dug deep with this one.  Great work my friend... I'm still in "nothing-land" myself.

Christopher~
This is awesome.
What beautiful emotions on display.

'Then their voice changes to hope,
     sing futures gaily spun.
Of woodlands; savage beauty,
     A new life just begun.'

This verse reminds me of the
spring ... which buds forth with
'new life' everywhere.

I so enjoyed this.

I thought at first to point out the excellent bits of imagery here, but it is rather early and I am not up to such a long-winded task.  Suffice it to say that your instances of inspiration are many.

Instead, I will comment on the poem as a whole: it holds a symphony of despair which flows flawlessly into a hopeful melody -- I was entranced.  Well done.

--Me

 Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

And you thought I would be afraid of what was dancing in that pretty little head of yours......lol

This was very eloquently written with a trip that sailed me from the depth of nothing to the soul filling expression of love.  You've written with feeling and with heart of lost and a heart of discovery.  It is beautiful.
