Please…just go away my dear, I walk this path alone
The distance to ‘me’ is far too great, my heart is made of stone
Shakespeare crossed the stars for me and all I dare to love
Surely, to try would be to risk all you’ve ever dreamed of
No love, don’t…don’t look at me, it tears my heart apart
Seeing what you possess to give, in what I can never take part
In living a life so comforting, in loving my love for you
‘Tis a dream I hold in hands, that never will come true
So you see my sweet, I’d given up before the game began
Its hard for me to see blindly past Truth’s master plan
And as much as I want right now to be held in your embrace
I know for certain that my life, is neither the time nor place
Kiss me softly and walk away, the very last goodbye
Move on my dear don’t turn around, lest you see me cry…

May I never be too busy to help another's load,
Then I'll be drinking from the saucer 'cause my cup has overflowed.

Is it a figment of your imagination or is it based on a real story? Whatever is it maybe, it sure was very powerful and very touching. I did enjoy reading it, very much,

My God, this is heartwrenching.  I don't think "anyone" is pre-ordained to be alone.  I can certainly relate to the emptiness and the futility behind this.  The denial of "love" itself being something you could experience... but to give in to that feeling...what is then left?

Beautiful but very sad poem.  (((HUGS)))

Well done m'friend, but allow me to say on a personal note, that if this is wat you truly believe, then it is only because you believe it. We "can't" do something, because we convince ourselves that we can't. Get into the "can," and see what happens... you never know...

Nikki, this is so beautiful...  it made me cry!  One of the best that I have seen, my friend!  Truly!

Satiate~
Sadly, a tender render of loss from you.
Just remember ... as you are walking
away from someone or someplace ...
you are walking toward another.
Smile and wrap a great big *HUG*
around you.

neitham: You mean my real life and my imagination aren't the same thing??     Sometimes we have things that need to get out, and although this is not true to the letter...the emotions/feelings are there, and they needed to escape.

Michael: My friend, I know and thank you, for understanding where I usually am coming from...scary as that may be at times.    Worry not, I haven't totally given up hope yet.

Chris:  So...you leave us all for days and days...you come back, and all of a sudden you're the Engine that Could?!    LOL  Seriously though, you're right (and I won't admit that again for a while!)...the only think holding people back are themselves.

Erin, girl!     It's so good to see you back again, thanks muchly.

Marge:  Bless your sweet self...you always have the most wonderfully uplifting things to say, and always have many smiles to hand out.     Thankyou

Surely one who can put the pen to such feelings can put fate in it's place

All I can say is...

however much of this is apocryphal and however much is literal...

it is a very touching poem and having been separated by death from love, I shant ever be again for any lesser reason, distance, money, time, (kids would have to be balanced in there somewhere), no argument, no slight, no wandering eye.... nope...
