**This is one I wrote earlier this year, you see, I suffer from Manic Depression and though I   am a lot better now I wasn't feeling so  good then. So instead of doing anything stupid.. I wrote this poem..**

The tears are falling down like rain
I hide my face to try to hide the pain
If you could see into my brain
Would you ever speak to me again?
I try to explain the way I feel
You look at me, as though my words aren't real!
I lick my lips, tasting the tears salty taste
I feel as though it's all a waste
These tears won't solve the pain inside
The pain I always try to hide
I don't like seeing you sad
Just because I feel bad
I feel almost safe in your arms
Thinking I won't come to any harm
As soon as you leave
I start to bleed
The cut is deep
The blood does seep
From my viens
I feel the pain
I'm screaming, and yet I make no sound
I collapse, falling to the ground
Shaking from the tears
Trying to lose all my fears
Hurting myself is what I deserve, I say
In my life, I've always had to pay
One way or another...

A terribly sad time for you has produced a haunting poem. Glad to know you are feeling better!

It's funny how sorrow can produce things (like this poem) of such beauty...

I have no idea if knowing there are others who feel pain as you do is comforting to you, but the truth is I have been in the place you describe before. Your work is a wonderful description of something very dark and forceful. I do hope you are doing well. Your poem was very well written by the way. I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you everyone for replying.. I was a bit nervous about posting that poem as it is such an insight into my thoughts and I thought everyone might think I was weak or something for wanting to kill myself back then

Mel...my heart goes out to you. My 17 year old son suffers from Manic/Depression and I know it is not always the easiest thing to deal with. If you ever need someone to talk to, please feel free to e-mail me. For now, keep your chin up and keep writing

Thank you hoot_owl_rn that is greatly appreciated.. I hope your son feels better soon.My boyfriend could see where you're coming from with it being hard to deal with.. once he told me it hurts him so much to see me so depressed sometimes I am crying so much I might as well be paralyzed.. and he feels as though he isn't helping.. But so long as you are there.. you are helping!
I am also 17
