Indulge Your Senses

Lay me down on bed of flowers
Blanket of clouds up in the sky
Cover me with tender kisses
As spring breezes blow on by

Take me from the here and present
Bridging time to distant lands
Touch my skin with gentle fingers
Map my body with your hands

Hear my heart, its hurried rhythm
Pounding out its frantic beat
Feed my hungry flames of passion
As our bodies softly meet

Feel the past, it is receding
Taking memories in its wake
Easing pain and hurt and worry
The future is now ours to make

Taste the sweetness love is offering
Breathe new life into my lips
Two as one, we now are dancing
Flesh enjoining at the hips

Silence words before they’re spoken
As your mouth, it covers mine
Let our bodies do the talking
Here together, they entwine

Smell the air as it surrounds us
Cool against our damp, warm skin
See the day succumb to nightfall
Feel me tremble from within

Hold me just a moment longer
Kiss tears that fall from my blue eyes
While we lay on bed of flowers
And stars begin to fill the skies

Hoot~
I just love 'the softer side' of Ruth !
This is simply sensually seductive.
Wonderful ... wonderful.

This "has" to be my new favorite of yours, Ruth! What a sensual, tactile, emotional rendering you've offered here. This is absolute beauty, in word. Thank you for sharing this.

'hoot'--this is sensual, warm, and lovely...
and Balladeer-was that foreplay?

Enjoyed this much--thank you--both.

"Breathe new life into my lips"...

This was exoticly pleasing to my ears Ruth...

Gentle romance at its fullest to be sure!!!

You could make a kitten's meow sound like an earthquake. And turn a weed into an exquisite flower. You take passion beyond wonderful. You take your talent to the limits.
Bravo, Hoot

Hoot I sense lots of warmth and sensuality...I'm especially interested in indulging in a few of these senses..such as..."cover me with tender kisses as spring breezes blow on by" and "Taste the sweetness love is offering..Breathe new life into my lips" and "let our bodies do the talking..Here together they entwine" and "smell the air as it surround us..cool against our damp, warm skin."   Soooooo sensual and tempting.  I like the way you wrote this poem.  James

Marina and PDV...thank you both

Marge...I'm kind of partial to the softer side too, but once in a while I like to roar

Claire...why thank you, coming from you that means a great deal

Serinity, love your comment girl ...LOL

Devina...one of my favorite subjects...romance

Dark Angel...thank you

David2...if this poem succeeded in stiring some deep emotions in you   it was effective then...thank you

Janet Marie...you are a dear, thank you

Liz...you flatter me, thank you for all your support of my work

Jim...there are certain aspects of life that should include all the senses, this is one of them, I live like I write, life can be full of passion if we allow it...thank you

this is sooo different from the last poem of yours I read..that one was strong and assertive and this one is soft and sensual and perhaps a tinge of sadness in there ??(the tears in the eyes...from happiness no doubt..but even happy tears always seem a touch wistful)

Its was beautiful..I loved it!

'Feel the past, it is receding

It doesn't get any better than that!! This is excellent, Ruth! I think I too have a new favorite of yours!!

Denise...It almost surprises me that anyone would choose this as their favorite of mine, but thank you
Martie...smiles, thank you very much

Danny....you have me blushing here, thank you...and perhaps a thought for a new poem...seduction in rhyme (think I will have to work on that one)
