That is human which strives for lofty heights
That is the day which descends into endless night
Time heals not all of the wounds
For all of the wounds come too soon
We are of a body, whole and entire
We are the dancing flames fueling the fire
Beauty in nature will pass by unrecognized when viewed endlessly
But how much do we mourn if beauty is removed eternally?
What if the moon and the stars shine no more?
What if the waves no longer break upon the shore?
Great works, not destruction, ageless remain
For all journeys through different paths, destination the same
Perceptions vary, on polar points of view depend
One’s enemy is yet another’s faithful friend
Outward confidence belies inner hopeless desperation
Change is the one constant in the life equation
The smallest things can somehow shatter
But a hundred years from now and they won’t matter
The best of times offers a tantalizing, never-ending illusion
Yet, like the worst of times, all suffer the same conclusion

The one constant in life is change, I agree. Great poem, JML!

I KNOW I use this word to describe you way too much but it remains to be fact...
you are SO deep darlin...
damn this is way cool...
your window on the world has one hell of a view
stalking you still,
your jm

 and you can say baby...
baby can I hold you tonight
maybe if told you the right words...
at the right time,
you'd be mine...
baby can I hold you tonight...

I love this... insightful... wonderful...

 Fleeting World
"Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream;
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream."
-from the Diamond Sutra, translated by : A. F. Price -- found in Teachings of The Buddha, edited by Jack Kornfield
