"The Effect of Deep Affection"

The worst of thoughts race through my head
On the outside everything seems alright
But on the inside a part of me is dead
Who ever knew love could effect me so much?
I find myself trying to remember your voice
And I'm forever lingering for your touch

"Worthless" is a new name you've given my feelings
It's quite clear that I come around every few days
only to impose on your dealings
On your side of all this confusion there's no
  comprehension
If ever I were to go back to you
Our love would be a contradiction
"Our love"?
Yes, I know it's a lie
I still remember when the truth became all too clear
You wouldn't even hold me as I started to breakdown
  and cry

Now it's been a while since we last met
Still my heart hold so much love, hurt, and regret
I know you see me standing in the threshold of your
  home
And there's no mistaking that look in your eyes;
You'd rather be alone
Your phone rings and there's no hesitation or shame
I only hope she's aware of what I now know...
With all the great feelings of being loved and
  wanted...
Soon will come an overwhelming amount of pain

***Andrea,
I know this feeling well...of loss and of hurrt, but believe me, it WILL pass...
Welcome to Passions, you will be looked after here by all.
A fantastically emotional first post.

Very enjoyable to read...especially liked.."Worthless" is a new name you've given my feelings" and "Now its been a while since we last met..Still my heart holds so much love, hurt, and regret."  That is a fantastic line.   James

I love those lines... "And there's no mistaking that look in your eyes, you'd rather be alone" and "I still remember when the truth became all too clear, you wouldn't even hold me as I started to break down and cry".
So descriptive... reminds me all too much of the last relationship I was in... sad, but you'll get through it!     And welcome to Passions!  We'll support ya and help ya out if you need anything!     Thanks for sharing your poem!

Much appreciation to all that have left a response. I have never let anyone read my poetry and I am thrilled to see that there are people that enjoy it. I was afraid that maybe I didn't have the talent to write. Now I see that when words truly come from the heart, they can never go wrong. Thank you all for leading me to this conclusion.

Andrea,
Welcome to Passions...a haven for the weary.  Excellent poem...I agree with James, fantastic line.  Wow.

Very nice first poem.  I agree with other comments made about the impact of some of the lines.  Good rhyme also.
I commented on your second poem also.
Welcome.

This person doesn't deserve you, remember that!

Nice poem, too, and welcome to passions!
