This Slivered Time

In the shadow
of this slivered time
inevitability dawns,
ticking its deliberate truth
into the graying delicate abundance
of my ageless soul.

Remembering the stereopticon,
like time in hooped skirt
so quickly gathering midnights,
then stabbing this flowing and magical life
with the truth of destiny.

The adventure is not knowing really
where the road beyond lingers,
in thoughtless abandonment
or delicious beginning.

Like a translucent vapor I chase
even so, but cannot catch it
with my fragrant optimism

And I see the shadows lingering
behind, then rippling
as if by unseen hand stirred,
or a breath from some pure faith
that hasn’t grasped me.

The golden moon has crowned me again
and this first day of spring
comes to whisper any truth,
like a lover wanting pleasuring
I touch it’s purple hue
with this tender minute
and breathe

just now.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
(ee cummings)

Hey Doc, you don't have to rhyme anything with evocative, it's a wonderful word.

Ruth--thanks for the lovely

Corinne--I feel the same about yours

Denise--I'm so glad it touched you so

Deer, to make you smile, makes my day worth while.

Balladeer is TOO smooth!  He said every word
I wished to say!

I'll settle for redundancy--and simply reply
          LOVELY!

Martie, you combine, so deliciously, the abstract and imagery of real life poetry. This is a fine piece of writing. Just superb.
