The realization comes slowly
That I don’t know what is real
I don’t know what I want
Don’t know what I feel
The weight is heavy upon me
Holding onto a sinking stone
With the knowledge
That inside, we are all alone
And in order to be healed
We have to stand in rain
In order to pay our penance
We have to endure the pain

The water washes over me
Washing me clean
I am starting out fresh again
Somewhere in the in-between
Until I feel the need again
Moving from left to right,
I feel the need to be cleaned
By the rain tonight

This is a really nice piece too...I like your sense of confusion in the first few lines...that sets the whole mood very well.  Anytime my life gets too chaotic or scrambled, I too go out in the rain...it's there I find my peace - my calm - almost like a cleansing as you spoke of.  A fresh new start when my mind is cleared.  Something about the rain....it is indeed what you shared here.  Thank you for this refreshing piece, I enjoyed it!     Also glad to know I'm not the only one who runs out into the rain when I'm feeling lost.....I find most of my own answers there.

You know the other day it rained and I felt the same way. I went outside feeling all the anguish and pain. Then I closed my eyes and "cleansed" myself with the rain.  It really felt like it did cleanse me.......

your jm

 and you can say baby...
baby can I hold you tonight
maybe if told you the right words...
at the right time,
you'd be mine...
baby can I hold you tonight...

"The weight is heavy upon me
Holding onto a sinking stone"

"I feel the need to be cleaned
By the rain tonight"

The flow (sorry) of this piece is aflood (oops) with a tactile, sensual feel...the message both emotional and cerebral. So nicely written.

Lovely.  The cleansing waters, like birth.
