So little time,
I'm in a bind
so many things to do.

When was it last
I had the time to spend
the day with you?

The days race past
in repetition without definition
but filled with unending meaningless tasks
how long will this all last?

I must make time
to let you know
how special that you are.

So in my haste I grabbed a jar
and began to fill it
with all the things I wanted
to say but have no time to do it.

And someday soon I'll give it to
you as soon as I get around to it.

Well Nona, I liked the poem, but.... I would suggest at least giving the poor guy the jar.   nice.

nona, i really enjoyed reading this poem, great rhyme flow. and the irony of the ending was perfect. take care, jm

 and you can say baby...
baby can I hold you tonight
maybe if told you the right words...
at the right time,
you'd be mine...
baby can I hold you tonight...

Yep, our lives are so crammed with meaningless duties, really, and the important things, like relationships we brush aside for a future that may not be ours. This is great Nona.

nona,
Reads like your making some jelly or jam,
I'd put it on some bread and take a bite mam.
Enjoyed the read.

This is really how I feel sometimes. I think of people and wish I had the time to call them and talk but there always seems to be something that takes priority. My "have to's" get in the way of my "want to's" all the time
thanks for your comments it lets me see I am able to communicate to others.

Nona,
Great idea!!!  Once in a while we need to step off life's busy train to let the ones we love know how much they mean before it's too late.  Don't wait too long!!!
