A Memory

The scent is you.
The fabric touches my face,
my heart.
Breathe.
Breathe.
I try to burrow in to it.
Your fingers curl around
the shape of my face...
breathe.

Oh, Claire~
Breathless memories ...
brought to mind
another moment ...
another time.
Thank you.

This is so perfect, Meadow.  I've read it over several times now and each time it makes me cry, remembering the many times that I've done the same,...and must remember to breathe.  I know that you more than likely do not mean this poem in a sad way... though it brings sadness to my heart anyway.  Thank you so much for sharing it.

"Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream;
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream."

I know when we loose someone through death or through love, or maybe they are just gone on a trip, we go to the things that the person wore or laid on to smell them near us! Short and sweet!

 "Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O,no! it is an ever-fixed mark....William Shakespeare
