I Love You as the Dewdrops Bleed

I love you as the dewdrops bleed
As Blue Jay loves the sunflower seed
As Hummingbird the nectars kiss
And lilies hug the morning mist

I love you as day opens up
The yellow folds of buttercup
As sunlight dries the morning dew
And lights the gardenís brilliant hue

My love is like the Sparrow's wing
The fluttering sound the feathers sing
My heart grasps all the joy within
As Sparrow clings to dogwood limb

My love is deeper than the depth
Of natureís secrets deeply kept
And cooing of the mourning dove
Is like the wonder of your love

My love grows like the rambling rose
And only God its power knows

how lovely is your poetic garden...this piece blooms with beauty...
you write with such graceful imagery.
very nice,
take care, jm

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch
You never knew what I loved in you
I don't know what you loved in me
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be

"until the twelth of never...and poets run out of rhyme, and that's a long long time.." ...oh, so romanic Liz, this is a beautiful poem and made me think of the song, only I think your words are better.

What a lovely way to describe one's love!  Birds and flowers are so delicately descibed here....I love it!  Puts a touch of spring in the air!

Liz, this is a beautiful description of a perfect love that few of us will ever know. Keep up the good work!

Poet Femme, I really apreciate your reading so much of my poetry, and your reponses are very sweet. Thank you

Lovebug, Few may know it, but I have a feeling you will be one of those few. Thanks, dear for your comments. Incidently, I enjoyed the fact that you wrote in structured verse in the poem about your sister.

Marie, Thank you for your kind remarks. And spring is just around the corner.

Balladeer, Glad it made you sigh, that is a sign of success.

Liz
