Brother in arms we come to this site
In brave challenge to decide the right
Where once we stood by and by
Must now we stare eye to eye
Come dear brother, to me bring your fight

Brother in arms we have but one choice
To draw our swords and silence the voice
That cries to our hearts for peace
Not this war that we release
Come dear brother, the drummers rejoice

Brother in arms we share the same blood
Much of it spilt to make valleys flood
Would, that we could staunch its flow
But now we must let it go
Come dear brother, let us make the mud

Brother in arms, we shall share this day
As enemies we came to the fray
But when the mud has all dried
And the cries of peace preside
Come dear brother, echo yesterday

War is such a waste. Sometimes I know they are necessary but usually they are not. Too many innocent people die. Great poem, Andrew!

Yes indeed Denise, I couldn't agree more. War is such a sad happening. Good to see you post outside the 'Stute Sir. I enjoyed this much. Very much !

You've written reality right into this piece. Very well done.
