The gently tapered wings of swift lake swallows
pass through the air like soft whispering sighs
darting through clustered masses of mayflies
hovering just inches above the shimmering lake
that reflects the orange hue of the setting sun

On a floating dock, worn in spots by thr rubbing of
moored boats, I sit in a weathered adirondack
with the pupose of only to relax to the rythmic
rocking caused by small rolling waves from cruising
pleasure boats, as friends wave while passing by

Looking down through the clear jade tinted waters
I notice the octagonal amber markings on a box turtle, seeming to amble rather than swim through
the still water, passing without a care for
anything but it's mysterious destination

These moments pass fleetingly, but remain ingrained
in my mind for when I feel the sides pressing in
my escape is into these simple moments, where all
the world requires is for you to sit back and enjoy
without asking for anything in return

Hi jbowie,

This was a very nice trip I enjoed it. I wish we had turtles swiming around our lakes. And its nice you can bring such thoughts back to your mind and enjoy them.

Thank you, Cerenity

Thank you, that was lovely, very relaxing.

The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition.

pssssst...jbowie.... If that line is supposed to be broken after the comma - did you know you can go in and edit your own work here?

Jim~
I'm with Nan ...
let's all call in 'relaxed'.

Wonderful, wonderful images you portrayed.

'These moments pass fleetingly'

We need to make the time to enjoy them.
Thanks for this wonderful presentation.
