Once Upon a Time.... You ask me to express the way it is that I do feel Yet you refuse to do the same To express in heart, what is real You have plainly stated no relationship you do need Yet than you say you want me I ask .. for lust? in hunger do you feed You prefer that I date no one pledge my allegiance to only you Yet for me you make no time Each day your busy with things that you must do You say I never want to see you hurt, for than you would so feel bad Yet from me you keep such distance ,than wonder why it is I’m mad My response to you is this...... I can not express to you the feelings in my heart For what would be the purposes If you refuse a relationship to ever start If you only want me for your lust, I will to you than feed My body my soul with you I’ll share Yet not my heart, for this you have no need My allegiance I can not ever pledge to you ,my time like yours is valuable Filled each day with busy things in life that I must do In the end the truth will forever be just this Fear not that I could be than hurt, by the passion of your kiss But I ask that you know this....... Your words expressed are the opposite of what your actions do convey They lead me to confusion of what you are truly truing to say What I find to be important are not the words that you convey It is instead by way of what you don’t say , by your reactions, to what it is I say I find you most compelling I am intrigued by the person that you are Your sweet caress your laughing eyes yet, you remain to me a distant star In my heart I know your secret , you present it loud and clear I could never be the one you hurt , for it is you who live in fear If you seek in me, my love for you, than you must understand Spider you must let down your guard, allow me to take your hand By doing so a friendship will build on truth not, on empty words or shame One that will surpass all time, by choosing to take a chance, to end this stupid game I promise that I will share my time with you, if you will do the same for me I promise to unlock my heart, If you take a chance to see a person real within me The choice is yours, you can not have both your cake and eat it to If you choose for lust than you must agree, to consequences made by you You will never know what lies with in me real, by the choice to not embark Upon a journey one of chance, to be than hurt thus taken by every UN- knowing heart If you Ignore me and you choose to walk away I want you than to know this poem was written for you this day A poem just for you my cherished Spider my gift of verse and rhyme To remind you always that until you take the chance of heart You will never know The true meaning Of Once upon a Time (c)Raven Legros |

Some people just don't want to commit but they want commitment from others. It sure doesn't work that way, does it? This is very well expressed! Denise |

Very well written. It is amazing how some people want it both ways...just refusing to commit to anything. They are the ones who lose. |
