I feel overwhelmed with all this love Poetry
Am in the wrong place or is it just the time of year?
Here is something not so romantic.

Forest without any Trees.

Lord if you're listening. Help me O please,
I’m lost in a forest without any trees.
If you can hear, please shine something bright,
Guide me safely back into the light.

Yes I am listening I’m here at your side,
If you need assistance, I’ll be your guide.
The roads through this forest are all made of sand,
But you’ll get there beside me if you just take my hand.

Lord since I came to this forest I can’t find my way,
I can’t tell the difference between night and day.
But I have to keep running just to try stay ahead,
For the wolfs in this forest they will be fed.

From wolfs you can hide but its best not to run,
They will always run faster my son.
The wolfs in this forest they all feed on fear,
But if they can’t smell it, they won't come near.

Lord they can smell it, for I tremble with fright,
My life has been a permanent night.
I have been running since I was born,
Give me the strength to last until dawn.

Poetry moves like a snake through our 'family'....right now, love is in the air.

I like your poem....This is the first of your work I read. Welcome to the family! I hope you enjoy your stay..please feel free to peruse the other forums!

Yes, it's true, love is in the air, must be springtime!

Your poem is dark and mysterious, and maybe, just maybe sometimes we write of happy things to mask the forest in all of us.

Love your writing style, btw.

Corinne
Thank you for your comments.
Sorry to have taken so long to reply.
I was away.

Poet de Vine

Thank you for your comments also.
I might add that it is not the first of my work you have read.

"Magnificent tale. Welcome to the family! I love this poem because I can feel it! Please check your email!"

Were you just being kind?

Not all poems have to be about love! You are in the right place for sure. This is a great poem about the fears and trials that we all face.

Just a note: Poet deVine was not just being kind. As moderators we read thousands of poems and sometimes we forget the names of the poets whose works we have read. That doesn't mean that the piece by you that she read did not make an impact on her when she read it. I hope that clears that up for you!
