Giving up or going on is basically the same
As I pause in time for reflection
Nothing exists outside myself anymore
As I continue this inward introspection

Knowing full well the approaching hour
And things that now will never be
It’s too late for dreams to come true
Just accepting what Fate has in store for me

I feel as if a stranger in my own life
Screaming voices becoming louder now inside
I would hate myself in utter totality
If it wasn’t for my stubborn pride

I live in the past because I have no future
So tell me please how I feel right now
I would give in to each and every sin
If it was something I could allow

Everyone thinks they will live forever
But I’ve come to the foregone conclusion
Something is coming, that much is certain,
To wake us from this delirious delusion

This is a fantastic poem, I must say I often feel the same way.

The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition.

JML,

You and I are indeed leading parallel lives. . .let's just hope that they turn out for the best. . .

This really spoke to me, as does all your writing. . . it always seems to fit exactly how I feel at the moment when I read it. . .

Wonderful my friend. .

If it weren't for delusions of grandure, I'd have no delusions at all!

Love this poem!

it seems i must now stand in line to stalk you...(smile)
this poem is one of my favorites..it is SO you...the way your gifted mind works...
excellent.
stalking you always,
jm

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch
You never knew what I loved in you
I don't know what you loved in me
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be
