It is the warmth
  of a summered day
and it swims to me
your memory

and the smile
  that recalls the taste
of childhood trees
and safety

the autumn susurrates near
  carrying her leaves
and brown lit hues
immortalising

the shed tears
  of the love-barren
I’m braving the loss
and the beat of steps

solitude makes

        yes

I can perform
  through the false
heat that will seep
from tomorrow

raise my hands and
  let the sun take
the life of crickets
and the imprint of you

   to another place

Uh, let me borrow that hand when you're done with it.  There's an imprint over here that needs removing...LOL  Severn, as always, you take my breath away.  This tingled.  "braving the loss", indeed.

Severn -
until now I had never thought of Summer as something which might be performed upon one. I particularly like your linebreaks and indents - the way with which pauses allow memory to filter in. Where is 'another place' and how do we get there?
I love this.
Thank you.

Severn,
With just the simplest of touch,
You took away my dreamers crutch.
Bravo a wonderful poem. *L* Sy
