2div align="Center">Sea Breeze

Coconut palm is dancing, dancing
Dancing in the breeze
Heavy leaf of mango
And the old banana trees

Everything is swaying
To the rhythm of the seas
That stir the mighty ocean waves
And bring the warm sea breeze

It blows the golden of my hair
And warms my tearful face
As I prepare to leave you now
And all your charming grace

For I am homeward bound today
To a far, far colder place
And I will miss the sea breeze
And your comforting embrace

Please tell me that you'll wait for me
Please put my mind at ease
And I will come again one day
Your lonely heart to please

I'll see you in my dreams, my love
Beside the churning seas
Where everything is swaying
In the gentle ocean breeze

Coconut palm is dancing, dancing
Dancing in the breeze
Heavy leaf of mango
And the old banana trees

And everything is moving
To the rhythm of the seas

Elizabeth Santos

I love this poem... just paints a picture perfect day in my mind.  It reminds me of my hometown (Philippines). Wish I could be there right now... enjoying that ocean breeze.  Great poem!

Liz~
I liked it but think you should add one word, "moving" to your last stanza, so it would read:

And everything is moving, moving
To the rhythm of the seas

But that's just me, I gues. I think it would add a nice emphasis to the movement of the piece.
best regards,
bboog

I was very surprised by all the lovely responses to this poem. However, I am still in Florida, and the coconut palms are still dancing. And Pepper and I are still having a ball. I'll be back on Friday and try to catch up on reading your wonderful poetry. Thank you, dear friends.

Oh my...this takes me back to my seas...I think I have some kind of connection with the ocean...Something about the breeze, and the waters, it's like I'm in a peaceful trance.  This truly took me back, so thank you.  Maybe I should consider just moving somewhere close to the ocean, so I can stop missing it and dreaming....
Big sighs....Your writing is better than a cruise!

OK, I'll have to read this again tomorrow but Friday I'm going to Galveston just because.

Great poem, I could taste the salt in the air...

Rainbow, so nice to see you, when you are not present, you spirit leaves a void.

bboog, I appreciate suggestions to my poetry, but if I add another "many" it would interrupt the flow and rhythm of this verse. I hope I did not offend you with my opinion poem, but I strongly feel that no one could improve on Marti's poetry. Hope you understand.
Your friend in poetry,
Liz

Balladeer, It was I who was honored to meet all the poet friends of Florida. Thank you for your gracious hospitality

Femme, Thanks for your wonderful comments, I appreciate your love for the sea

Whtdve, It was an event to be envied, Thanks

Serenity, Thanks for the "perfect"

HM3, Galveston, an island retreat, home of the most wonderful shop of old maps and books. But I don't recall any palms on the beach. Have fun and thank you

Severn, Thanks for the tearful response. We spoke of you often

James, you give the loveliest responses, Thanks

Zelda, Thank you for your kind remarks

Liz,

Guess I am last to respond to this LOL...Oh well I liked it so much, I'm sending it back to the top again! This was such a beautiful poem. I felt like I was at this location and time that you describe. I live on the coast of NC and am love with the ocean too! This poem was written with sensitivity and emotion. Thanks so much for sharing with all of us. Was a pleasure to read.

Take care,
AMY

Amy, Thank you for your wonderful response. It must be nice to live in beautiful North Carolina by the sea.
Glad you liked the poem
