No Wizard Villanelle I fear
One known seems to have dis-apppeared
To start this search I volunteer

No hocus-pocus it's been made clear
Who's not afraid come lend an ear
No Wizard Villanelle I fear

For such we'll look both far and near
If need be out beyond the spheres
To start this search I volunteer

Come forth we summon thee , appear
Gather 'round be of good cheer
No Wizard Villanelle I fear

No power held or secret dear
Will sway this course bound to adhere
To start this search I volunteer

Come poets from both hemispheres
Join this quest of nineteen tiers
To start this search I volunteer
No Wizard Villanelle I fear

Doc:

A few variations on the "b" rhymes but a very tight (and amusing) villanelle.  Good work.

Dear Doc am I glad to see you
I’ve been scared here all alone
Instead of red I do feel blue
The King with his head on a stone

I’ve been here scared all alone
In this reddish world colourful
The King with his head on a stone
To see this is rather scareful

In this reddish world colourful
You dare to challenge the Wizard
To hear this is rather scareful
Maybe we should ask Scotland Yard

You dare to challenge the Wizard
What evil will come upon us
Maybe we should ask Scotland Yard
They may send us Mister E. Fudd

What evil will come upon us
With you around things will work out
They may send us Mister E. Fudd
Which would change this story no doubt

With you around things will work out
Instead of red I do feel blue
Which would change this story no doubt
Dear Doc am I glad to see you

I found the wizz just the other day
And his name he has given way

He became ruffryder for awhile
But got the boot for his style

But never fear he's not too far away
But alas, not for long will he stay

For he'll be up to his old tricks
And will most definetly get the flick

If I come across old wizz, I'll surely give a wink
But finding that rascally fellow will really make us think.

Mmmmm  flush him out.....

Doc Moose, this is a great Villanelle.... I sure hope you find our wizard - He's been behind that curtain for a long thyme now..

This is what he looks like, in case you get a glimpse...

For the official Passions record - the wizard of the stute is an original Passions forefather.  He is not to be confused with the more recent "Wizzard" who no longer posts at this site..

Wizard Villanelle you should fear !
Your Wiz is no danger to me
I shall not let you interfere

Your Wizard has disappeared
Where is he ? I do ask you !
Wizard Villanelle you should fear !

Behind curtains ! He won’t appear !
Can’t you see, his magic’s left him
I shall not let you interfere

The Silly-bus is very near
I am still Master of the streets
Wizard Villanelle you should fear

My spell has blinded you severe
Scavenge the schoolyard all you want
I shall not let you interfere

My Silly-bus, syllable dear
Too blind to see they are my dear
I shall not let you interfere
Wizard Villanelle you should fear !

First , thanks to all for the read & reply ,and now ...
Jim , on the form , I'm not sure what you meant by "variations " on the "b"lines ?

jaf, Nope , wrong Wiz , please see what Nan has said below .

d,as always it's good to hear from you .

M'lady , I do not recognize this form , but am certainly flattered that you took the time to write it in response

Justin N. ,  hey guy ! Thanks for the offer !

LBL , Like with anything else , the form can be difficult to work around , but they do get easier , (unfortunately , they don't always get better )

One Flew , Thanks for the offer , I thought perhaps more would reply in kind

I see your pantoum you're raising the stakes
First stop Khartoum in this search that we make
One should have a full deck this to undertake

Playing close to the vest no sweat shall we break
Understood are the rules that the house gets it's take
I see your pantoum you are raising the stakes

Beginning descent buffet and shake
A Silly-bus waits on the ground by a lake
One should have a full deck this to undertake

A thirst for adventure discovery may slake
Though the clues leading here all turned out to be fake
I see your pantoum you are raising the stakes

Airborne once more off tarmac sun baked
Full boat one two three kings over jakes
One should have a full deck this to undertake

We're comin' there Wiz make no mistake
From the 'stute we did stage a major outbreak
I see your pantoum you're raising the stakes
One should have a full deck this to undertake

Been holding my breath for much too long
And now I hear a Yellow Brick song
Is that Elton or Nurse C
Who is it that's kissing me
I believe things have really gone wrong

This ain't the 'Stute, nor is it Kansas
Hope this ain't the Godfather's last kiss
Is that Doc Moose that I hear
Please tell me Red is now near
It's time to end this paralysis

Oh my! This place really is bizarre
Nurse C! Enough with the C P R
Dear Red its good to see you
Tell me, what now shall we do
Hey Moose, by chance did you bring your car

This yellow path has no speed limit
I'm sure we could go real fast on it
Let us go search for the bus
The one that Wiz hid from us
Everyone pile in! Time to split

As we seek the Wiz by Villanelle we're off the coast of France
Our search cut short by ocean's swell fear Neptune's great puissance
Ship-wrecked fools A.W.O.L. fate rules by circumstance

Washed ashore as we explore the beach's great expanse
A bottle lies before one eye ( the other looks askance)
As we seek the Wiz by Villanelle we're off the coast of France

Curious I pop the cork and with much extravagance
A Jinn appears with two cold beers and does the Hula dance
Ship-wrecked fools A.W.O.L. fate rules by circumstance

She says since I have set her free our search can now advance
With wave of hand a sea-plane lands and out steps "Tuckett's" Nance
As we seek the Wiz by Villanelle we're off the coast of France

"The Silly-bus you'll not find here give Kansas one more glance"
By plane then train (this is insane ) we'll have to re-finance
Ship-wrecked fools A.W.O.L. fate rules by circumstance

Another stop along the way by those who are entranced
You can Ron but you can't hide from our vigilance
As we seek the Wiz by Villanelle we're off the coast of France
Ship-wrecked fools A.W.O.L. fate rules by circumstance

The silly bus
will be
my focus
as I nod
my head
to transport
our squad.

The silly bus
to find
will be
a plus
for all of us
so here we go
ready or not
away we
blow.

Oh my stars
where's
Lady in Red,
Andrew,
and
Nurse Crachet?
(I hear a voice)
Vegas Caesar's
palace
oh my,
I did not
mean for any
malice.

Shall we stay here
in Kansas
where the air
is clear
or should we
search
for where
the other's
may be?

So sorry master
for messing up
must have lost
my concentration
part way through,
sometimes I create
such awful disaster.

Just a blink makes one plan toast, hopes the others all are fine
Red eye taken from east coast, now arriving right on time
According to that last signpost ,points this way to the "Grand Design"

The Silly-bus which matters most , with us does intertwine
Yellow roads where road-kill roasts , that which stupefies the mind
Just a blink makes one plan toast , hope the others all are fine

Nothing here but other's ghosts , I'll take the Vegas line
Odds foremost we'll find our host , so says this hunch of mine
According to that last signpost , this way to the "Grand Design"

Excess to the uttermost ,glitz and glamour strike some blind
With our mission we're engrossed ,"Neuf Le Moose" Seven of Nine!
Just a blink makes one plan toast , hopes the others all are fine

Re-financed by a slick riposte , the Jinn and I shall dine
On bouilliabaise from the sea-coast, with fine imported wine
According to the last signpost , this way to the "Grand Design"

Not to post what's innermost , if we were so inclined
Would be negligence most gross , to be poetically unkind
According to that last signpost , this way to the "Grand Design"
Just a blink makes one plan toast , hopes the others all are fine

Oh my goodness, what have you done
Andrew are you ok my hun ?
Jeannie must be somewhat rusty
At least a tiny bit dusty

Crachet glad to see you here too
Look a man with a ‘Stute tattoo !
Could that be our Doctor Moose
Chumming up with that dumb blond goose

Nah, dilusional I must be
That’s not our Doc Moose, now I see
Bets can be made with Crayons Red
Only one, but also hundred

Are you hungry my dear Andrew ?
See they serve here a gooey stew
Maybe a game you rather play
Russian roulette is what you say ?

Would you mind it awfully dear
If I’d walk ‘round with Crachet here
While you wait here at the bar
If the others arrive by car

Nurse Crachet we will walk around
Until the others we have found
No there’s no time for a glass of ale
Oh my goodness, there are Chip & Dales !

Juliet for goodness sake
what kind of observers
could we even make
if your looking out
and only seeing
chipmunks.

These men you ponder
over in that circus tent
cast gifts of wonder
and they're called
Chippendale's.

Do you care to glance
while we're right here
we'll blame it all on
Jeannie's blinking
circumstance.

Look at that one's chest
and look at him (wow)!
He's hardly dressed
how did these men
get so blessed.

Juliet this is to much for me
never again a match to be
for these men have more
then I've seen before
let's find the door.

Let's get back to Andrew
and check if he's found
the rest of the crew
or maybe he's still
eating the stew.

Should I wrestle a sun ray ?
Or get out my gun??
Please say I may !

Hey!! Wait!! It's okay
Please don't run
I want to play!!!

There's no need to pray
It was a joke, hun
Please say I may?

Please say not nay
It was a fake gun!!!
I want to play!!!!
Please say I may ?!?!

**Sorry my first attempt at villanelle had to get a book to see how it was done LOL but I think I like it and will have to try it on a more serious note soon

How did we get into this mess
Andrew gone with Lady in Red !
Crachet there too ? That they will like !
She won’t be moving from Red’s side
Doc we must get to Las Vegas
Something called the Palace Ceasar
Whatta ya say ? A bit of roulette ?
Or throwing dice in the toilet ?
I always liked to play the cards
I really think it is an art
To let ‘em think they got it all
Then steal the nikkels, take ‘em all
Jeannie, got some magic left ?
To cover up a master theft ?
Or got a car hidden somewhere ?
We really should be gettin’ there
OK Doc, let’s hit the road

My silly-bus, my dear
You’re safe here by my side
Drinking wine and cold beer

This is a new career
Performing in Vegas
No-one can find us here

I am no rocketeer !
Playing my act on stage
Drinking wine and a cold beer

I wish for a cigar

Drinking wine and a cold beer

Round and round
Place your bet
Time to answer the call

I'm spellbound
Drawn to it
I love that silver ball

Ten on Red
Five on Black
Twenty across the board

Go ahead
Bet the stack
I've come to make a hoard

See that ball
Watch it fall
I love double ought green

Wager all
for a haul
I'll even bet Doc's spleen

-----

Hmmmm.... How did I end up here is Vegas? I  vaguely remember something about Kansas, holding my breath and being kissed by Lord Elton. But hey! I'm in Vegas! Where'd I get all these chips from? And this Spleen? Say... Wheel-boy... can you ask one of the pit bosses how much I can get for a spleen? Thanks.   Now let us see... let's go heavy on Red... and Thirtysix... Twentyfour... Thirtyfour... Seem like winners to me... and always go to the green. Alright... rollem!
