I lost my appetite

your words are now
flat
empty
devoid of flavor
no salt to burn the wounds
I hide so carefully
no spices to inflame my senses
and set fire to my soul
no moisture
to make me thirst
for quenching
but
oh
oh what they used to be…
your alphabet usage
was a culinary delight
each letter round and plump,
each word tasty, delectable
seasoned with just enough
adjectives,
peppered with perfect punctuation
your verbiage moist and juicy
I couldn't wait to eat
I couldn't get my fill…
what happened?
I don't understand
this lack of wanting.
I am still me
and you are still wonderful
but now you create
for someone I could never be
and I am left with the
crumbs of yesterday's desserts
I numbly nibble
failing to find my familiar fix
the staleness saddens my soul
its not the same
and I
I seem to have lost
my appetite

Well, your words have certainly not lost any flavor. This poem is a culinary delight....and roasted to perfection.

How wonderfully someone can season our lives and make every day delicious... and how dry as dust the taste of mornings without them. *S* This is great, Corazon!

Corazon you are writing the most lovely poetry I have ever seen you write...you are so in touch with your heart and your feelings.  Sorry that this is a sad time for you now.  Take care.   James
