Stronger Than She Knows
First Knight

She is stronger than she knows, with compassion to the core.
And far more than she shows., she will even fight your war.
She is known to stand by you, no matter the cost or shame.
Stronger than the oak, and hotter than the flame.

With abuse and torment daily, She built up her strong walls
To survive the daily torture, her freedom day to call.
She reached down deep inside,  to find that which remain.
The act of rebellion, that act which kept her sane.

She woke one day and said, " I won't take it anymore."
I need to live my life for me, " I am walking out that door."
She carries her head high, knowing she is better.
No longer that beating bag, and far beyond what kept her.

She is free from that cage,  that kept her from her flight.
Flights on winds of change,  her darkness into light.
Courage, pride and honor, all now fill her name.
I am proud that I know her, and glad she knows my name.  .

She is stronger than she knows, with compassion to the core.
And far more than she shows., she will even fight your war.
She is known to stand by you, no matter the cost or shame.
Stronger than the oak, and hotter than the flame.

David~
This is absolutely beautiful.
She will appreciate it very much, I'm sure.
She is a beacon of strength and such a lovely person.
You did her credit, kind and gentle man, with words from the heart.
Probably the best I've seen of your work.
Love ya'

I will keep my response short and sweet and just say that this has touched me... I woman in my family is having trouble "waking up" and saying that she will live her life for herself. I hope she will make the right decision for herself and her young family.

Your poem is beautiful... and heartfelt..

Bravo

Thank you all for reading....I really do think of this as a praise post to Ruth...(Hoot)  She is very brave and strong and at times I tink she just needs to be reminded.  Bless you Ruth

What a fitting tribute to a woman that has borne her share of misery and then some!! She is a fantastic person and wonderful friend to any in need of one. You have done her justice my friend. Very well expressed!!

Wait for me, Ruth.....

David - This is a lovely tribute.  I've known hoot for a couple of years now, and saw her through her transition.  I can tell you this - You certainly understand her well... She's one strong lady... Nicely done, my friend..
