Rivers of tears run down my cheeks,
I taste the salty liquid upon my lips.
Forever falling and then colliding
To the hardness of the floor,
Splashing in the ready made
Puddle of broken dreams.

Through cloudy eyes, tears run dry.
I've emptied out my tomb.
Collapsed by exhaustion
Falling broke to the floor,
Laying in the residue of
Elusive dreams.

Reluctant to leave this bed of tears,
I gather myself up from the floor.
Breathing release and then relief,
With things in perspective,
My mind free to reason,
At last I can finally rest.

WOW! this one was filled with lots and lots of deep emotion. I too have felt like this from time to time. Sometimes a good cry is exactly what we need! Kudos to you for posting this as well as getting through this hurtle in your life!

Shelley~
This is just wonderful emotions on the page.

'Laying in the residue of
Elusive dreams'

The river of regret is filled with the tears of loss.  It flows to it's crest and then recedes to a navigable level.
Hoping you have seen it crest and can now navigate freely.
Wonderful writing.

Release and then relief.....that is the way...this is so full of pain and yet with a touch of hope.

Amy,
Thanks for your response. I find no shame in a good cry as long as it pushes my forward.

Marge,
Thank you for your kind words.
The river has crested, now to get the courage to navigate freely to a new course.

Denise,
Release and relief leaves room to grow, sometimes painful but worth it if you wish to better yourself.

Bang,
With the power of your pen I'm sure you too will reach a "new shade of being"

Lots of smiles here!!

Shelley,

Sometimes, you have to get up and face the dawn. . . and in that, there is the strength. . .

Welcome back, by the way. . .we've missed you!!

What a beautiful poem~
I, too, have felt that pain~
It is the worst a heart could feel~
Time and hope heals all~

What a feeling... it's always somehow refreshing, as you've mentioned here to cry so hard that you feel you can't breathe and get all the tears out that are available within you... but it can be so painful and almost more painful if you feel the pain yet can't cry.  You seem to be feeling better though... able to "reason" and "finally rest",... Beautiful poem as well
