You drift in and out at times not desired
As you gate crash my brain when I'm feeling so tired

You make up the words and they spin in and out
Please not at this moment, I'm wanting to shout

I'm trying to sleep, but you always interrupt
The sleep pattern of my brain you try to corrupt

So I jump out of bed and write down whats in my head

Cause you've gate crashed my brain and seeped out through my pen
And my sleepless night is about to begin

creative. interesting how you refer to it as 'gate-crashing'. now let me take a wild guess, that would mean your new ideas are, perhaps, crashing through your gate of slumber and seeping out of your pen? correct me if im wrong. i do that too, and lose plenty of sleep at that! at first i was thinking it was some guy calling you late at night. i dunno, either way u got me thinking

Well said, tracie! I experience this all the time. Darn Muse keeps me going and I write some classics in my head tossing and turning, not being able to sleep. Then, when I go to write it down.... poof! Gone, like vapor!

Your poem seems to say that you are able to capture the Muse and write it down. Ah... to be so lucky!

Enjoyed this poem, tracie. I have one on the same subject. I think I'll repost it.

Tracie~
I enjoyed this.
Just welcome them in
and let the muse begin.

With great amusing
I welcome the intrusion
of thoughts cascading
into the slumber
of my night.
