~  Out the Door to Nowhere  ~

I realized today that my life is for naught
I can't reach the stars or the dreams that I've saught...
I reach for a love, but he's not even there
He once made me smile - now he won't even dare.

I wake up each day in the same lonely trance
I sing to myself - all alone now, I dance.
With no one to call on, and no one to touch
No one to share shooting stars, dreams & such.

So I pack up my life - and I head out the door
I really don't know now - what I'm looking for...
Each star that I pick seems to be out of reach
I can't learn a thing yet have so much to teach.

I know how to fly - but my wings are so broken
He whispers somewhere to my heart, words unspoken.
This man that is searching for me, just the same
I head out the door as my eyes cry his name...

Is he out ahead - or was he left behind?
I struggle each day with this thought in my mind...
I get in my truck & I put it in gear
I head down life's highway - so lost in my fear.

With tears streaming down - I follow white lines
I'm headed to nowhere and can't see the signs...

Wow I feel the lost and tragic events.  Maybe  this means more to me because I am in much the same place in so many ways.   You have given light to that which is darkness in your own life...and I hope that in this you can release some of it to be free and in that find that which is meant to be.

There is no place called "nowhere"..only 'not there yet', 'get there soon' and of course the proverbial 'where am I'!

All teasing aside, your pain and longing are palpable in this poem. I think it's by far the best I've read from you. You must get a roadmap! Sometimes the best place to be is not the safe place of your past but the exciting new place in your future. Drive safely! I'm here if you want to talk.

Pff,
This is excellent and I agree with
Poet deVine. Sometimes it hits you right away
and sometimes you wait a life time. But I do sympathize the inbetween. *L* Sy

poetFemmeFatale- This is excellent. I love the last 2 lines, they conclude the poem perfectly. You should write dark poetry more often, you seem very good at it. The pain in this is so real and vivid...

Ok Troll-Girl, off the pity trip, and back on the "Highway of Love!" LOL, just teasing you! This is a poignant poem with echoes of no hope, a feeling I've known a time or two. You've done well delivering it, while maintaining an down-to-Earth feel. Bravo!

hehe...You can't see the signs cause I yanked 'em all out before you on the way here.  Been floundering in "no where" for quite awhile now...LOL  but believe me, you'll know it when you get there.

Seriously, Gen, you know where I am if you need to talk.

Talk about drastic measures Michael!  ROFLMAO   You know, you can get in trouble for jerking out signs!  I'm gonna make sure I make a big detour around you boys as I head for Santa Rosa....LOL   I'm sure you'd both love to smack me around a bit, and I sure as heck can't handle you and Chris at the same time!  Talk about being fed to the wolves!  No thankie!  hehe  I do value my life, believe it or not.

I want to say a big thank you to each and every one of you who replied.  I was actually kind of SHOCKED at some of the readers here who commented!  Haven't heard from some of you guys in quite some time....thought I was on your *LIST*.....    So glad to know I'm still LOVED...(batting eyes humbly)  You know I love each and every one of you - and I mean that - I don't care what any of you say, it's TRUE!     Bye now, I'm on the road again....(whistling...)

hehehe  Devina - How about I pick you up, and drop you off at Michael's house, as Chris will be there with him....since your life is so blah of late!  I can guarantee, your life will NEVER be the same after spending time with these two!  ROFLMAO

I've had to check myself into Charter a couple of times over them already!  hehehe  (padded room)

beautiful poem Poet Fem...very emotionally sweet...hope you find what your looking for...
I have this saying...
"im always late for somewhere...but its never where I want to be...
we're all looking for our hearts destination...damn...I need to go write a poem...(smile) take care,jm

 you're really alone at last...
you're bored and fading fast,
if it's true you'll fall from the past
all you'll have to do is ask
you'll feel but never be
you want and always need
price you pay for wanting to see
will you have all you've ever dreamed...

I started to read and thought "oh God a self pity trip" but you proved me wrong as I read some of your thoughts on where the road branced and chances you might not know you ever missed. Great self therapy in here. Check your e-mail, I changed my address. And by the way, the last two lines really whipped the hell out out of anything else you have written to date. (at least what I have seen, considering- and yeah, that barb in my early reply to a thing written in stone ((rem, nice name considering)) was really uncalled for as michael pointed out) see there is the public part of my private e-mail to you.

Mr. Bowie - I re-sent it...Thanks for the apology, but I told you it wasn't necessary!     You know, actually, since you made that comment, I've thought about it, and you're right!  My name sucks! LOL  Notice on this piece, I signed it without Fatale?  hehe  I'm really not fatal as that would imply, although I'm sure Michael would beg to differ...He carries his antidote with him everywhere I hear now...   to Michael.  I have had my shots, and I won't bite unless bitten first!  Let me know if you get the email, ok?  Catch you soon!  - pF

I know I missed something along the way...I'm just not sure what it was.  Here I was on the road to happiness and now I realize there are some folks that have fallen behind.  Don't worry, sis...I'm coming back rather quickly so stop and wait and I'll try to help.

pFF, point that truck west and head down 412 until you reach T-town.  Dry those eyes, bring a two dollar toll and your dancin shoes.  Got a cure for those lonely woman blues.
