There was a little girl who
Couldn’t wake up in the morning
Her mother had to fight her to move
“Come on sweetie, the sun is dawning”

She dozed at the breakfast table
And her mother tried vainly
To wake her, but wasn’t able
This she could see plainly

The little girl napped at school
Wherever she could
If she had to break the rules,
Then she just would

She nodded as she rode the bus
And almost missed her house
Because she slept more than us
And was quiet as a mouse

All she wanted to do was sleep
And dream another dream
To sink into them so deep
Like floating on clouds it seemed

Her eyelids felt heavy as lead
In the bath she was made to take
But when she crawled into bed she said,
“I can’t sleep, I’m wide awake”

-My attempt at humor. And what was weird, this was written 4 years before i actually had a daughter. And she don't sleep either. Weird huh?

LOL--isn't that the way it goes with kids?
