The Stillness

There's no resting now for the wicked,
Or so the old adages say
I must have committed a murderous crime
To remain wide awake in this way

My thoughts soon befall to your gifting
Your friendship, your words and your art
And how in but few and such settling sunsets
Your warmth has uncovered my heart

So many events yet unspoken
Of all that our lives have entailed
But no hurry is felt in tonight's wandering thoughts
As I savor each morsel unveiled

And with now drowsy sighs of our sharing
My eyes seem to know how to close
I just needed to ease them with visions of you
And the stillness that loving you knows.

Dear Lady
Claire

I love this!  It's beautiful!   Yes!  I relate so much to this!  I love it!  Beautifully worded as well!

Claire~

So lovely.

'But no hurry is felt in tonight's
wandering thoughts'

The wonder is where your thoughts
did wander.
Beautiful.

Very soothing and warm, embracing words, which are not easy to do.
