Solace can be found in the rising of the sun
Hope, unforeseen, can also be realized
And the dreams that return to haunt me
Are like familiar ghosts where shadows lie

Weaknesses, imagined or possibly real
Can be the source of the fountain of life
Hidden grace is not so hidden in the face
Of one who tends to embrace, the gift of life

Though I walk among decrepit tombstones
And pause only to read their confessions
As the shadows surround the darkness,
It’s my one and only obsession

To remember is a way to forget
The unhappy day and temporary smile
Upon a face with a common grace
Like everyone else, once in a while

Differences are the constant sameness
Which allow us to be the passenger
And with this ticket, begin the journey
Yet mortals feel compelled to kill the messenger

A heart of gold is something to hold
Even though I don’t know how,
But when I wake tomorrow,
I’ll behold all that is graciously endowed

"to read their confessions".....I never really thought of it that way, but that is so true.  This whole poem is full of Wow, so I have a hard time just picking one thing to comment on!  Superb indeed!  I'm still amazed at how you *ponder*....Gets my wheels turning too!  BRAVO!

this is really well written, relaxing to read...you go so deep inside your thoughts as your write...
stalking you still..jm

 you're really alone at last...
you're bored and fading fast,
if it's true you'll fall from the past
all you'll have to do is ask
you'll feel but never be
you want and always need
price you pay for wanting to see
will you have all you've ever dreamed...

Beautiful. Many powerful lines, but this one pulled me into it...

"And the dreams that return to haunt me
Are like familiar ghosts where shadows lie"

This was very interesting to read--I enjoyed wandering with you in words from so much thought.

Yet mortals feel compelled to kill the messenger

liked this line and ...all the others too.

JML~
Wow ... does everyone have a
different particular line that grabbed us?
(I find it interesting that we've all
found something unique)

'To remember is a way to forget'

I'll be thinking that one through.
Powerful thinking.
