Though you are beside me
I sleep alone;
The chasm between us
Seems to have grown.
The laughter and love
Have dissipated;
Leaving me wanting
Feeling wasted.
All my emotions
I long to share;
I desire to give
To one who cares.

Though you are beside me
I sleep alone;
My dreams are reserved
Iím on my own.
Not searching for love
Just a friend;
My ruptured soul
Is on the mend.
Contentment is pitiful
I deserve more;
Can it ever be the way
It was before?

Though you are beside me
I sleep alone;
Visions of another
I am shown.
Could he be the one
To make me whole;
Fulfill my fantasies
Repair my soul.
Although a cherished friend
He may be;
I know the reparations
Belong to me.

  Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence.

Hi Sonjes,

This is perfect, I truly understand what you mean in this poem. I wrote one very much like this called union of souls.
Thankyou so much for sharing,

Cerenity

Though you are beside me
I sleep alone;
The chasm between us
Seems to have grown.
The laughter and love
Have dissipated;
Leaving me wanting
Feeling wasted.
All my emotions
I long to share;
I desire to give
To one who cares."

 you're really alone at last...
you're bored and fading fast,
if it's true you'll fall from the past
all you'll have to do is ask
you'll feel but never be
you want and always need
price you pay for wanting to see
will you have all you've ever dreamed...

Sonjes,
Well said.  I often wonder though if it is better to feel as you describe in your poem or as I do now, if you choose to leave... I definetly feel more free now, but I can't decide if I'm more lonely now that I'm alone than I was when I was with him... just a thought.  I loved your poem though,...thanks for sharing it.

Sonjes~
Emotions of discontent are sad.
You express them well.

This verse says it all ....
'All my emotions
I long to share;
I desire to give
To one who cares.'

sonjes,
I was where you are several months ago. Somewhere, I found the strength to leave...I'm glad I did.  My life is very different now, and although it's not where I want it to be, it's better than living a lie.

You have hit a stone in this wall that I have built. It is true that one should not live a lie but it is also hard not too..great poem!

pop in with a poem
take care, jm

 The stars shine so bright, now's the time
I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face,
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close.
Now I will reach for the stars...
Because Oh my love, that's where you are...
Though the storms of black night rage on
I still see your face
I still feel your lips on mine
And though my heart feels all alone without you
I still hear you sing to me
I still hear your voice on the sea...
