Girls Night Out

A drink a day is best they say
To celebrate since he finally took the bait
You stayed tuff and called his bluff

First a few beers, now they’ll be tears
With gin we’ll talk of his tempting skin
But the rye will always make us cry
We’ll sip rum only if we’re still glum
Pass the wine and we’ll be fine
A Singapore Sling is definitely our thing

So take my advice and roll the dice
Leave him a “Back soon” letter, the booze has never been better
And take one last fling before you put on that ring!

Marina, Marina, Marina. . .

I love this one!  Your attempt at humour is quite good. . . nice to see that we're not the only ones who feel this way. . .

indeed...
Just a few beers
Tossed down the hatch
Will stop our ears
From hearing that
Mournful cry of venue
That starts with "honey, could you..."

When in doubt
We'll wash it out
With bourbon Scotch or beer
And when we're through
Back home to you
We'll stumble full of fear.

sorry, stereotypes and all...your poem is quite good for an "attempt" at humor.  I have a stitch.

Sounds like one of those nights.  Reminds me of many years ago when I first started drinking so I tried a little of this and a little of that..and I was in France drinking with my friend...and in no time at all I was totally drunk..so we called a cab...and it was a Citreon..or the equivalent of the American Cadilac..and my friend warned the driver to proceed slowly..he proceeded to pull away like an indy race car driver..I threw up in the back of his cab..he cursed me out in every French curse word available..and he also wanted to strangle me.
It didn't take me very long to learn not to mix the drinks...pick one a night and stick with it..I rarely drink today unless I go to Karaoke bars to sing and socialize.   James

What, no vodka, what kind of party is this anyway????

I must have been in Florida, and missed the party. Can we have another one? This was good for a laugh, though. Thanks

Danny, if I knew you were coming I certainly would have had Vodka for.  Only with all these women aren't you afraid of being taken advantage of???

Liz, of course we can have another one...anytime. Thanks for the response.
