As I allow myself this brief hesitation,
Of life’s constant motion
I determine my lot in life, and my station
Everything somehow counts,
Everything and everyone
Somehow adds to it in large amounts

When I look upon words of yesterday
How childish and brash
Are the ones I choose for today
There are many courses I could have taken
But would that compromise
The feeling I possessed upon waking?

Faces flicker and flash like slides
In a concentric whirl
All have come and gone like the tides
Was it fate propelling me through?
When it seemed so wrong
Yet it seemed the right thing to do

I guess we’ll never know
I guess we’ll never really know

But there are things that I might regret
Choices of ill-fate and indecision
And I know there are more chances I’ll get
And now the clearness gives way to the confusion
This time maybe for real
Finally I’ll give in to diffusion

Regrets – a word that should never be
I won’t quit, because now I see,
Regrets are simply a part of me

Hi JML,

Yes I agree with Sea as well, but I want to add that our choices only become regrets if we do not learn or at lest try to learn from them.

Wonderful Poem,

this one is full of wisdom...the kind that comes from learning from our mistakes.
very well expressed emotions of regret...
still stalking...while "intrigued"

 ...every moment of every day...
your still with me in every way.
every poem and song...
every rhyme and verse...
your still here...like a beautiful curse.

Geesh...I think you are me in a man's body!  LOL  I keep reading poem after poem here, and each one is like I've written it myself...Your thoughts have been mine many times sir.  Sad to say...(sigh)  Regrets...I agree.  I've made many *bad* choices in my life, and each time I wonder, "How could I have been so blind?"  "What was I thinking?"  But as someone said, you never know till you try.....???  I think I'd rather not know sometimes!  hehe  Your poems have a way of making me REALLY think.  Great accomplishment  there, BTW!

This is such a touching poem.  Regrets part of those that feel every wrong in the world is because of them and every right is because of someone else....I know this well.   I loved your poem and I thank you for sharing it with all of us.
