Between a laugh and a tear...

For Roniece.....

We travel different paths you and I
Yet we have found each other
Was it chance or destiny?

You have touched my soul like no other
And brought the sunlight into my life
That light that is your love

You've taught me to look beyond the pain
To break the chains that restrain me
You give me freedom from myself

Though we may never meet
You see me, you know me
You have known me forever

Though the paths we take may differ
We shall journey on as one
I shall always be with you

It is enough that I know, I love you

Bingo!
I've a friend like this. I love her with all my heart, and even when we don't see each other for a couple of years, when we get back together, it's like we were never apart! Awesome!

I would title this "Our Journey".  It would seem to fit the flow of the poem.
Nice piece.

Yes - show it to your friend!  Some people come and go, but friends like that are forever.  Wonderful poem, love it.  As long as you keep writing like this, I will keep replying.  Welcome to the family.

The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition.

Thankyou one and all for your comments, they are much appreciated. Yes I'm sure that I will share it with my friend.

Enola...Yes! she is a very special person, a rare treasure.
I have never considered myself a poet and doubt I ever will. I just try to exprees my feelings with honesty. I guess my aim is to be able to convey those feelings.
I hope not to disappoint with my future postings...

I love those 2 lines... "You've taught me to look beyond the pain, To break the chains that restrain me".  Beautiful poem and something that I think most of us can relate to or at some point in our life will be able to relate to..."You have known me forever".  I loved it!

Roniece...I am glad you convinced me to post to netpoets, I am amazed and flattered at the response to my postings. If my star shines bright it is because it bathes in the light of your friendship.

Butterflies...I understand the ache you feel all too well, there is comfort in friendship.

Wow, what a beautiful poem.

"It is enough that I know you"

Those words clasp around my heart.  What feeling.

I stopped back in to re-read the words that touched my heart so deeply before. I just wanted to let you know that I think the title you have chosen is perfect for it.

You mayn't consider yourself a poet, but this, my friend, is poetry. Do keep writing.
