one two three four five
do we all go to heaven
when we die?

the web of lies was spun just to see
what torment they could catch
and you oh so easily fell prey
you ripped my mouth open
and jumped down my throat
your unbelief
scratching and shredding
the innocence of my remains
and days later, still wincing
with the pain of the ankle that I turned
running from you
from me
from too much for one mind,
I totter on the brink
of trying to go on
and I wonder does grace
cover the bare spots
when trying
isn't enough?

I see the tears
and watch the sobs
and I know your pain
is real
but I hear the words you
reason out of your head
and I wonder
does grace cover
insanity too?

excuse me could I interrupt your
tirade of pain
for just a minute or two
you'll need to loosen your grip though
I am turning blue...
I never said you didn't care
I said
you care too much
crushingly, suffocatingly too much
and in your saner moments
I think
you hear me
but it doesn't fit with your black and white
care
or not
reasons
and
I need to walk
no, I need to write
no  no
I need to walk and write
walk, to stay the scream that has wrenched
itself in my middle
write, to quiet the poetry tap tap typing
in my head
so that I can close my eyes
and  pray
that grace (and mercy)
covers poets
too.

so now its your turn
and not by my hand, either
by her highness, the exalted one
your friend of friends,
that my lowness (in your eyes) can not abide.
someone (evil I suppose) fed her lies
about you this time
and she swallowed the unbelieving
and tonight
you cry
why?
you can't see
that its just
your
turn.

Corazon are you going thru something really hard right now?   I believe that Gods grace, compassion, mercy, healing, and love does reach out to poets as well as every other sinner in this great big beautiful world.
Take care.   James

Anger is not equivalent with disconnection but it is the path...

Grace does cover poets my friend because unlike most others, we see not only with our eyes but also our minds and more importantly our hearts.

An excellent poem that screams with pain... Those saner moments when he hears come all too seldom... I've no doubt whatsoever that you and Toe are both destined for heaven... but I'd just as soon you delay that trip for quite a while... this one and only needs you both! *S*

Corazon~
Deep, deep thought process going on here.
I like the presentation.

'and tonight
you cry
why?
you can't see
that its just
your
turn.'

Powerfully spoken.
