Danny, you've written this poignant poem straight from your heart, haven't you? It must be so difficult, and yet, something we must do, and "want" to do for our child, when the time comes for them to make their way. I'll be writing one like this of my own in about four more years...sigh... Hang in there...
A Romantic Heart
Forever In Your Heart
Danny, This was a touching poem, my heart went to you in your fight to let your child go but wanting to keep him near...needing you. My own children are still young but each day I see them needing me less and less and each triumph for them is bittersweet for me. God bless you and the fathers like you.

Like you said Danny sweet sorrow This was a sad but sweet piece I could feel your longing to hold on but also your need to let go. LoL Tracie (don't worry if I know boys he'll be back whenever he needs his washing done).

This is fabulous...I started reading it wondering where it was going....I could see several possibilites....but then you wrapped it all up so nicely at the end! Bravo! Last year I was with a man whose daughter was off to college, and I saw his pain....I can relate to this well. I think he felt he was losing his whole identity when she left...Wondering what to do from here...? Powerfully spoken and in beautiful form. Thanks for sharing.
