FORSAKEN

Tempest tossed, I wander, lost
Never to find my way.
All hope for naught, now all forgot,
There is no yesterday.
A wisp, a dream, all life does seem
To pass, a breathless sigh.
A missing gleam from eyes in deem
Of never said goodbye.

On wings I sail ne'er to avail
Tomorrow's setting sun.
A pitch black veil, my Holy Grail,
I live, alive to none.
In vision quest, given my best,
I lay my trophies down.
At sweet behest of Love in jest,
To bear a jester's crown.

Opening eyes by the night skies
I fall to Destiny.
Therein arise through tainted lies
My unfeigned fallacy.
Through teary view of all life new
Alas, the angel sings.
By saddened hue of pink, sky blue,
I rest my weary wings.

To hold command o'er reprimand
If by ash or by dust.
To dare but stand at my own hand
Of decorated trust.
If heretofore on dreamless shore
What hope have I to borrow?
By time foreswore I soar no more,
Never meet my tomorrow.

Michael Anderson

'Tis true, Love lasts forever,
Only here memory slips away.

The feeling that you write with is amazing, yet makes my heart ache for you and the pain that you reach to in your poetry.  You are an amazing writer.

Before I can say a word about this poem I have to get a new dictionary..all the words that mean superlative/stupendenous/wonderful/magnificent are faded from use on all your previous work....someone will have to think of a new word to describe perfect poetry!

rest your heart...rest your wings...
rest while sweet angels sing.
fate and destiny will do the "rest"...
we must believe...
to pass love's test.

your still here...like a beautiful curse.

Whoa boy! Check out THAT rhyme scheme! You know what this means to me Mike? It means you have by far too much free time on your hands! What have I said about you showing me up? Not allowed, remember!
Really though bro, this slams home and hits hard.

Butterflies_dont_cry, That is the ultimate compliment to a writer...to know he has moved the reader to such emotion.  TY

PdV, you humble me....I am not worthy.

Janet, Fate and Destiny have their hands full with me...LOL  Thank you for the beautiful words, seriously.

Marge, can you say that in here?

serenity, still making my way toward I-10...it's funny you brought up St. Michael  I am working on a project with Christopher on the archangel.  It will be a poem overlaying Christopher's wonderful artwork.  I'll post it here when it is completed.

tracie, so glad to have touched you.

Christopher - yeah yeah, well we all can't work 10 jobs like yourself....and get to go to Boulder and all those other wonderful cities....  No, instead, we get to stay home and pull our graying hairs out trying to complete "aliterary acrostic nightmarish challenges" from the likes of yourself....  Just wait - the next challenge comes from me to you!!!

Thank you one and all for the kind replies.

Michael

I don't post things to often here but I think I come and read all the wonderful poetry here almost daily... guess I just like to take it all in..... and you, you've compelled me to post some kind of response because every single poem I read by you here seems to be speaking straight to my heart... I'm not a critic in the fact that I don't really know all the grammatical things that make a poem good or not, but all of the poems I read by you, they touch me... deeply.. and isn't that what really matters?  Isn't that the point of any form of art?  You are very gifted..... I really just wanted to say that, that's all.

As of yet, this is my favorite. I believe your sir Walter Scott style of writing(which I do not know what it is really called, but this reminded my of his writing in Lady of the Lake) is beautiful. Such a sorrowful piece but elegant in it's composure.

How baroque...how beautiful.  This is timeless.  Isn't it funny how pain seems to breed such beautiful poetry?  I don't think a single thread of happiness can compare to the power of pain.

Liz - I literally wrote this one with my eyes closed as it poured from my soul - can relate totally...

Rebecca - My deepest thanks - but sit down already!

Red, Indeed, "that is ALL that matters" in my eyes.  Sharing my poetry would serve me no purpose otherwise.  I thank you so much for replying.

jbowie, That is quite a humbling comment.  My sincerest thanks...not sure what the name for it is either but it is the most comfortable style for me to write in as well.

Robert, I couldn't agree with you more on the pain thing...  It's powerful, indeed.  So glad to see you posting again...welcome back.

angel girl, I hope it's always that way.

Thank you all so much,

Michael
