EAVESDROPPING

I saw them today,
they were talking.
Though I never heard a word,
I didn't have to.
Love was evident,
glowing.

I couldn't see her face,
I couldn't see his...
but I could feel it,
flowing from them.
So sweet,
so erotic.

Both of them so
completely enraptured,
they never even noticed
I was there.
But I was there,
alone.

Merely names on the screen,
I could feel the miles
separating them.
I knew their pain
only too well.
Their longing,
their need.

This much I could feel.
Love bridging
two separate worlds,
two separate fates
become one.

And yet,
This much,
I have never felt
in truth,
nor will I
ever.

Wonderful, heartbreaking, bittersweet, agonising, terrific...
I give this a two thumbs and two big toes UP!

So sad, so full of emotion...expect nothing less.  Love will always find the way.  That sounds so cliche.  I can't believe I wrote that...Oh well, wonderful poem, Michael.

Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance

The future an amazing place
can take you from one sphere
to another within just a blink.
The wandering take step by step
never feeling the presense close,
when it's really there knocking
softly waiting for you to hear.

It's silence debilitating to self
seems the world has left them alone
within the matter of seconds
the future can come and go
like a leaf blowing in the wind
where it stops nobody knows
unless they take the time to watch.

I am an evesdropper too,  and know the story that writes itself in my mind ...love, dissapointment, fear, they are all there to see, but they really come from within.  Wonderful poem Michael!

beautifully painful Michael. I too know this feeling all to well. Someday that will be me, I believe that with all of my being. It will be there for you my friend. When the time is right.

Michael~
This poem exudes your longing.
Trite to say ... it will come ...
so I'm trite ! But I'm also right !
Sweetheart, I'm gonna save this one
for you to read through a smile
down the road !

Maya, I am so glad you liked the poem.  I had quite the inspiration on this one.  But you better watch them toes...

devina, it's like watching a rose petal fall to the ground in a silent, slow motion.  I join you in your *sigh*

sonjes, LOL at the cliche...sincerely hope it's true though.

Gloria, thank you for the beautiful poem.  Indeed, I know I should be "watching" a little closer right about now.

L.R. - I don't know whare you came up with that one...there's probably a (don't really want to admit it) truth underneath it though.

Martie, you are right - they all come from within.  This whole poem was merely emotion drawn from within me at seeing two names on my ICQ list.  I never saw the faces - or even knew what they were talking about.  For that matter, I never knew they were talking at all.  But my heart knew, I could just feel it.

Marilyn, you have already been here for me as much as I can allow anyone at this point.  I can't say thank you enough.

Janet Marie, You are right, miles separate the physical forms. Even still, the emotional separation I feel from the world seems greater than anything you could ever label by distance.  I hope that doesn't sound arrogant of me.  I know that you probably understand me better than most people here, but it's just simple fact - and one I only bring pain to myself and others in trying to deny.

Denise, never have - never will...LOL

Marge, you are quite optimistic there, do please save this.  I'll hold you to it.

Butterflies_dont_cry, welcome to Passions.  I have not read anything by you as of yet but I will certainly look.  I must say, though, your screen name is beautifully poetic in itself.

Thank you all for the kind replies.

Michael

M, you dont ever sound arrogant...only honest of your emotions.
I understand both what your saying and feeling...I just wish I knew how to change it...you deserve better...we ALL do...
some times "things" are taken away from us before we ever had a chance to learn from them...
once again, your words move me.

Michael, I must agree with Local Rebel, the whole world loves lovers..... We love to watch the event unfold, maybe just to capture some of the essense or the energy. Just like you did here, romance voyourism.
Great job.

Michael,
Isn`t that what all of us are doing?
I mean any time that we look into the heart of another, weather it be through listening or reading,we`re still eavesdropping....RIGHT?
Thank you for the read Michael.

I followed Marge's link over here Michael, and this is so priceless. Both threads are so special when read apart, but when read in combination ... they tell an amazing and inspirational story. Congratulations again to you both.

And "Mystical Marge" ... you're a treasure.

Best wishes,
