A NEW DAY

Slowly and gently the darkness does ease
faintly you begin to see the trees
and feel a whisper of a cool soothing breeze
the birds begin to waken and take fight
the pastel pink and yellow builds
to a blaze as the color of the day
comes to light
Another new day in which to do
something for someone less
fortunate than you
So wipe your eyes, stretch and yawn
there's lots to do before this day is gone

There's no higher calling in life than to be a servant of mankind. This is excellent, Nona!

I agree it is important to never take what you have for granted and to help others - nicely said, Nona.
