Insomnia grips me again
So I sit in front of my pc
Surfing from Yahoo to Lycos
Clicking aimlessly

And then I see you there
Clearly in a webcam vision
Sitting at a desk
Typing with precision

Your back is to the camera
So I cannot see your face
You stand and stretch your arms
As my heart begins to race

I look at your web address to
Save you as a favorite site
And then I sit and watch you
Throughout this sleepless night

It says your name is Craig
But that’s all I know of you
I cannot take my eyes away
I think I’m fascinated by you.

I watch you scratch your head
Hoping you don’t have lice
Take a drink from a glass
My god! You chew your ice!

Again you stand and stretch
Unbuckling your pants
You strip down to your boxers
And proceed to do a dance

Mesmerized by your daring
To allow the world to see
Wishing I had a way to say
How pleasing you are to me

You leave the room and still
I sit staring at this screen
Minutes slowly ticking by
I wonder at your routine

An hour passes as I commit
Your room to memory
I cannot go to bed just yet
Afraid of what I won’t see

Dawn breaks and still I sit
My butt is getting sore
You’ve not returned for hours
I’m left here wanting more

I’ve memorized your furniture
The books upon your shelf
I’ve had to go to the bathroom
But I’ve been controlling myself

I call my boss at work
Tell him I’m feeling ill
But all I’ve got is ‘craigfever’
And perhaps a slight chill

I’ve left the door open
So my dog won’t bother me
I hate to leave one minute
In case he has to pee

I’ve been sitting here seven hours
Running twice for some relief
Grabbing a jar of peanut butter
And a can of creamed chip beef

An hour later you return
Dressed in jeans and shirt
Tidying up your office I wonder
If this is the way you flirt!

I watch your every movement
I’m hooked, that much is clear
And by the end of the week
Your vision, I hold dear

Every blink, every nod
Means something special to me
And now I’ve decided to
Let my fascination free

I send you off an email
Then wait for it to arrive
Tenderly I see you click on it
Suddenly I’ve come alive!

Your head twitches left
Putting your hand to cheek
I feel slightly nauseous
Woozy and quite weak

And then to my surprise
You turn and wave at me
And in that moment I know
YOU are my PC

You turn and type something
Forcefully hitting the send key
And now I’ve got the message
There is email waiting for me!

Call me if you want to
Your message says to me
My heart is beating hard now
I read your number carefully

Placing your hand on your phone
Anticipating my call
I rise to get my cellular
But stumble there and fall

Now needles and pins attack me
All I can do is lay here and weep
What a time, I scream!
For my butt to go to sleep!

ROFLMAOAWMP!!!!

This is wonderful, deVine...and I thank you for the privilege of proofing prior to posting.

Can't say I've laughed this hard since your "Frog in my Lap" post.

A comedy of treemenudo propartitions.   I'm surprised and impressed I can use such big words.  Wait...for some reason the spelling doesn't look right.   I better check the dictionary and make sure I spelled these right.   Woops...should have been tremendous proportions....sorry (laugh)  James

Sorry about the pins and needles

Candid camera

See the image from the camera
Snapshots of a fool insane
Have you seen a face more ugly
Hung within a picture frame
Enough to make a fellow poet
Have a massive heart attack
Who’d endure the daily horror
Of staring at my butt and back
I’m sorry I don’t look like Brad Pitt
( Or even Brad from our ca)
I promise I’ll remove the camera
Or move my chair and desk away
I hope you haven’t suffered greatly
Or maybe lost your lust (for life)
If you're still sane you got off lightly
Just think about my poor wife

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.

Thank you all...if I've made just one person smile with my poetry, I feel I've accomplished something. A special thanks to Alicat who sat with me through the end of this 'ode' ...or is it an epic?

And thank you Craig, for allowing me to use your name! As I sit and watch you, I marvel that you can sit there so long without YOUR pins and needles...you must have buns of steel! (next time, flash me ok?)

Trust me Claire you would only be disappointed, I’m flattered by PDVs imagination, she could make John Merrick sound cute ( which is in effect what she has  actually accomplished) .

I thought that was a picture of Elmer on your desk! You mean it was YOU! And Mr. Merrick was a wonderful man....Michael Jackson seemed to think so as he wanted to purchase his remains!
