A Friend Is:

A friend is that comfortable feeling you get when alone
yet just imagining their voice makes you smile.

A friend is that whisper in the air that lightly caresses
a soft message of thoughtfulness in your soul.

A friend is that gentle reminder of inner peacefulness
as they always are walking in unison with you.

A friend is that elation you feel when communicating
your thoughts with them and knowing they care.

A friend is that guiding light reaching to protect you
as the doors of sadness open wide to view.

A friend is that star shinning brightly in misty skies
that calls out your name and asks for friendship.

Never refuse that brightly shinning star of evening
for within that star could be a friend for life.
