Some time back I wrote a poem for my dad, and shared it here.  I've been meaning to do one for my mom also, and I finally got the inspiration I needed through a crisis in our family, to pick hers up and complete it, as my mother and I haven't been as close as me and my father.  I reflect back on all her efforts, and now see the real beauty behind her silence...I love you mom.

~  Mother So Strong  ~

Three words come ringing clear
when I think of who you've been -
Always "dedicated" to your role
as our mom through thick & thin...

I look back to days gone by
and I sense your silent tears -
But we do have happy memories
you've been "strong" through all the years.

Our days weren't always sunny
but you were there through all the rain -
It's the rain that makes young flowers bloom,
so it was worth the tears & pain...

For me, you're my example
on how to withstand strife -
So many silent tears you cry,
yet you carry on with life.

You forgive no matter what,
always smiling, standing strong -
Reaching out with loving arms,
sacrificing for so long...

"Determined" as our mother,
I just wanted you to know -
I do appreciate the years you gave,
and I won't ever let them go...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You sheltered us from rain, yet we blossomed just the same.
We love you mom,
Genny & Judy
Wanting to remain somewhat silent in Open, has been my intention...however, I wrote this today, and wanted to honor my mom by sharing it.  Thank you for allowing me to post it here for her.
January - Feel free to share it with your mom.  I think we should all make sure our mothers know their lives haven't been in vain, and it's best to tell them while we have the chance, instead of waiting until after they're gone, and then regretting we didn't share our hearts with them, and our love.  Thanks so much.
Hi poetFemmeFatel,
My moms birthday was the other day and you just wrote what I have been trying to write for a very long time. I always want to say just the right thing but the mind does not come forth with words to tell her just how I feel, I to would like to send her your poem if it is ok?
Thank you,  Cerenity
This poem is really beautiful and I believe expresses how wonderful mothers are and that no matter what, they love you unconditionally.
Well said pFF
PoetFemme~
'You forgive no matter what,
always smiling, standing strong -
Reaching out with loving arms,
I've said it before,
I'll say it again ...
Mom's are like that, yeah we are.
Lovely piece of your heart.
beautiful tribute to your mother...
I liked the line in your dedication as well,
"and now see the real beauty behind her silence." very poetic and wise.
take care, janet marie
 When you see through love's illusions, there lies the danger...
And your perfect lover just looks like a perfect fool
So you go running off in search of a perfect stranger
While the loneliness seems to spring from your life
Like a fountain from a pool.
You certainly showed how much you love your mother and it's done so beautifully.
 The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.
This is beautiful, PFF... and your advice to those who still have their moms is very wise... tell them what they mean while you can! *S*
First off,I would like to say that this is a very nice read pFF.
Next I would like to say that I find some that replied here rather...rather...well I can`t find the words that describe a person that will say bad about one and then turn around and post with nothing but sweetness.
Thank you pFF for sharing with all of us...even if some aren`t real!
Thanks again to everyone, I really didn't feel comfortable posting this, but am glad I did.
RufffRyder - Thanks for your comments...I do know what you're talking about, it's okay.  That happens alot here you know.  I know who my true friends are - and to be totally honest with you, there are many here who REALLY dislike me, yet they love my work, so what's a girl to do?  ROFLMAO  (wink)  It's all fair in the end though!     I simply appreciate anyone reading and commenting, it doesn't matter to me what they think of me, as long as they give me an honest opinion on my work, that's all I'm after!     Lots of kisses to ya Rufff !  hehehe  I'm like a duck, I let alot of it just *roll right on off* my back....Quack!!
