I walked back to water
Watching as roses
Dived and bobbed
Under tidal torrents
Thinking of sand
Where we baked lust
Secluded in Sol's afternoon
So long ago
When we ran to midnite
Naked to a breeze
Blowing later

I watched roses
Not fighting tide
Just coming and going onto sand
Peacefully happy to go
Whichever way the water
Might take them
To drift into your sea
A grave for me
For you
Rebirth

Rebirth as a mermaid swims
Ashe into brine you are life
Blowing a cool February mist
Across the coast thick
And pound sand
With fresh hello tides

Good to see you Mr. Hawke
The waves say waving
Sit with the gulls and
Feel me
Breathe

Feel me wet
And deep
I am alive
You say

Sir, if I may say, you say
You have been walking too long
In this sand
Carried in your shoes and with
Each stride felt it sting your feet
Like man o wars in August

Wash your feet in me and walk
Clean
Walk away sir you say
And remember I am under the stars
With you
Peace

Thanks all...

I fear though that it is too cryptic to be understood --

this is about my trip to the beach last week where my beloved's ashes were spread and her giving me permission to stop mourning...

This is very touching, LR. Yes, we need that permission, don't we? This is beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. You have captured it well in this verse.

Rebel~
I'm so touched by the tenderness
of this piece.

'Rebirth as a mermaid swims
Ashe into brine you are life'

Eloquently played.
You surely did her memory a tribute
from your heart.
Peace be with you.

A beautiful poem. It was not too cryptic for me, I could feel what you were saying.... it's nice to see you back with us.
