My poetic checks are bouncing!
There are no funds in the bank
I cannot borrow from anyone
To refill my empty tank.

So I went to the only place
I know will loan me muse
First National Bank of Inspiration
Is the lender that I choose

I drive up to the window
And talk into the speaker
The teller looks at my poems,
Which rhymes are getting weaker

I tell her that Iíve lost it
Iíve spent my last notion
I cannot write of mountains
Of deserts, woods or ocean!

She asked me Ďbout the last time
I deposited any thought to
Stretching my reflections
As any poet ought to

I confess that I still read,
Perusing every written word
To deposit into my account
Each idea, sensible or absurd

I feel Iíve overdrawn my muse
Used the stockpile of imagination
And now Iím bouncing poetry
For lack of inspiration

So all I ask Miss Teller,
Is a loan or two from this bank
Iíd like to be prolific again
And fill this awful blank.

The teller turns to her boss
Whispering words quite low
Then answers through the speaker
That a debt I certainly owe

ďYouíre moderating a forum
of perfect passionate poetry
each poem contains some thoughtful
inspiration you can get for free

We recommend you read each verse
Accrue mental stimulation
For you have overdrawn your account
At First National Bank of Inspiration"

PoetdeVine~

If you're overdrawn,
then I'll gladly pay
any NSF charges
they send your way.

I truly believe
that you should try
the ATM of my bank
if you really want to cry !

Those banking folks of yours
are 'cashing in'
on this wonderful poem
from your pen.

This is the cutest 'rubber check'
I've seen bouncing here all month !

My verbiage too is overdrawn ~
My Word-Bank's in the red.
How do we put this in Re-Verse?,
Refilling empty heads?

Perhaps we can consort on this
Vast negative amount ~
Between us we can make some cents
We'll get a joint account!

That was great, an inspiration! I feel the same way at the moment, hence the lack of new material.  Also, thank you for the e-greeting!

A very clever poem, although, I never have this problem of inspiration, when I am lost for words I just take a long walk in the quite and peaceful atmosphere and breath deaply, if this doesn't work, I pear into the eyes of a loved one and let my pen do the work, hope you don't realy have a problem with finding words because your poetry is fabulous . And I want to read more,
Liked it loads .

With poetry as your weapon - express your iner feelings so all may carry your sorrow, united as one .

Thank you all! If my poem has done nothing more than make you all smile, it's a success. Actually I was chatting with Mistikman about lack of inspiration when this hit me..so I am not really read for this bank yet....but I try to keep my balance current just in case..

I do know what that's about. I think everyone shoots blanks at times. And those that enjoy writing are hit hard by the lack. It's good though that you have your humor, hang in. It all comes back.

Sharon this is marveless, and so thoughtful. I bet you can get a loan at any time at
"Passions First Poetic Bank"

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Devine you'll never run out of funds! You always come up with something. And hey, you got Michael to laugh!  And me too! Great work!

This definitely had me smilin', much in the way one of my favorite (nonsexual) Prince lyrics does: "I cashed a check; the bank bounced." I think the same thing happened here, poor bank. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice.  It seems you have about a million dollars worth of inspiration in the bank so you will be set for awhile.  James

hang on PDV.....it is the winter doldrums... just the lull between seasons I think....a rest between beats in the music of life.

Been there.......am there....done that... doing that.
