The night was dark and storming,
The gates of heaven itself were shaken,
The storm echoes the worlds' feelings,
The moaning wind echoes mankind's heart breaking.

Fallacy, lies, deceipt,
A world shrouded in darkness,
Too many cruelties in this world,
Too many lives ripped by heartache.

Children killing children,
With guns no less!
Poverty, war and disease,
We talk too much, we digress.

We have to change the world now,
What are we leaving festers with hatred,
Where is the world our forebears loved,
Where life and love were sacred?

We must unite one and all,
We must do our part,
We must mend our world's wounds,
Nothing less than make a start.

I want the world to all join hands,
From one side to the other,
Singing songs of love and peace,
Chinese, Arab, Australian, all brothers.

A new millenium, let's make a new start,
Heal the world and it's people too,
One alone can't do much,
But a thousand together might change a thing or two.

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

Thanks for calling for a healing...I know that many families are going thru sorrow over the terrible and senseless evils in this world today.   And yes, even the gates of heaven must be shaken and the moaning wind is echoing the heartbreak.  Really a beautiful and meaningful poem.    James

Thanks James It got carried away this poem, and didn't end up how I thought it would, but if you like it, then it must be ok

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

This is a beautiful cry...I say cry, because it strikes me as a very emotional plea for the world to be captive of a unity of the likes many of us can only dream about.  I LOVED the Waltons and Little House On The Prairy, by the way...people seemed to work very hard, loved their neighbors very much and life seemed to be valued much much more.  Sigh.  GREAT writing here, Isis!

Isis~
The hue and cry of unity and peace,
love and compassion, caring and sharing ...
lovely .... I glasp your hand in the
circle of care.
Thank you for this lovely thought.

Wonderful writing in this poem and I think it is fine just the way it came out, sometimes our best writing leads itself. I agree we all need to join hands and seek unity throughout the world, bring peace and harmony back to the heart of society. Evil can be stamped out if enough hands are joined together.

A beautiful and thoughtful poem Isis, as always.  It certainly has made me think and brought a tear to my eye. Very well written and touching.  If only everyone could listen to your words and advice, the world truly would be a better place.

Take care,

My friends. . . let us all say a small prayer for the families and the children. . .and let us all hear the call again to have peace in the world. . .let's all do our part. . .

This is wonderful Isis. . . and I couldn't have said it better myself. . .

Thanks everyone
January Flowers I LOVE the little house on the Prairie books and Tv series.
The world was better back then, real values, of love, God and family.
Somewhere between the 1890's and 1915 the world went mental and has never turned back.
Another shooting in America on this morning's news> Shocking!
Thanks everyone for reading this.

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......
