IF WHO YOU ARE WERE UP TO ME If who you are were up to me, Well let's just think who you could be. You could be my actress of choice, Meg Ryan lulls me with her voice. hmmm? It's obvious, you're poetic, Red But Ella Wheeler Wilcox is dead.  Still, I like a woman to sing for me, But I know Faith Hill isn't free.  So my choices seem narrowed a bit, Let me think just one more minute. Instead of someone I daily see, Maybe you could just be my fantasy. Someone who'll lay their head upon my chest, Never question me at my best. Someone who'll takes steps to grow with me, Holding my heart ever gently. Someone who sees my strengths, but weakness too. But who never judges through and through; Knowing I give my love the best I can Knowing above all, I'm just a man. Someone genuine, but heartfelt too. Who doesn't wear masks to hide what's true. Someone who honors the promises she makes, Who never shuts me out or weighs my mistakes. Yeah, if who you are were up to me, If you're gonna be the woman I marry. I must admit my hearts astir, Cause truth be known, I've yet to meet her. Michael 'Tis true, Love lasts forever, Only her memory slips away. Micheal, She is out there my man, time will tell you that, Old father time, My friend and my foe, You harbor life’s secrets, Only things that you know. ~ You pass by me quickly, When times are so grand, But when I am waiting, You linger and stand. ~ You cannot be pushed, Nor grabbed and delayed, You pass at your pace, So steady and staid. ~ Impatience will slow you, Acceptance will speed, In the fullness of you, We get answers we need. But it sucks waiting does it not ?. Nice poem. Paulsm Slow Down, stop to smell the roses and stroll through the garden of life, it will be a more pleasurable experience. I think of you always Honey XXXOOO. |

paulsm, Indeed, it sucks bad! Thank for the great poem though. Marge, ya think so? Well then, I guess all that would be left if figuring out who she is...LOL Ruth, honestly I ain't lookin' very hard...LOL so if she's lookin' like I ain't lookin', God help us, we will never find each other. Amy, you alway make me smile, but where is Amyland, anyway? Rose Red, be assured, you made my day. Thank you for thinking of me while I was down. Know you are my "favourite" - always. devina, see there, things must be getting easier if I even opened my heart a little bit...glad you enjoyed the view.
