The sun sets and the sky falls black. And the trees whisper as I turn my back, On all the memories I knew Of how and when and why I loved you. I look to the sky and all I see Are stars that are reminders of you and me. They twinkle their brightness for a time But slowly, yet surely, they lose their shine. Dark shadows play stages for these memories As I look into them and you I see. Darkness's arms engulf me to bring my the ghosts of a love I knew. I reach out to embrace them and fall right through Transparent bodies that carry my pain from long ago. And I begin to wonder if I will ever know, How to intwine my heart and love together And bring me a happiness that may last forever.
Danella this is so lovely. The flow is so smooth and it seems to me that you are right at the place where you are telling your heart that you are ready to let go of the pain and began to search for love again. James

Danella, This is a beautiful poem. It's hard to "learn how to love". We take a lot of lumps on the way, too. I know your pain all too well. I have felt the engulfing Darkness you speak of - I have seen stars lose their luster as well. Never give up - Love is out their waiting, it has to be.

This poem has such amazing visuals...A beautiful piece. I am confident that you will be truely happy one day and as long as you stay true to yourself, all will be well. I look forward to reading more ofyour work...

Your first poem too !? Such a wonderful enterance and a great response. Good luck, pain goes away or is replaced by another. It is as much to do with choice as it is luck. I wish you well, keep up the wonderful work.
