The sun sets and the sky falls black.
And the trees whisper as I turn my back,
On all the memories I knew
Of how and when and why I loved you.
I look to the sky and all I see
Are stars that are reminders of you and me.
They twinkle their brightness for a time
But slowly, yet surely, they lose their shine.
Dark shadows play stages for these memories
As I look into them and you I see.
Darkness's arms engulf me to bring my the ghosts of a love I knew.
I reach out to embrace them and fall right through
Transparent bodies that carry my pain from long ago.
And I begin to wonder if I will ever know,
How to intwine my heart and love together
And bring me a happiness that may last forever.

Danella, this is a beautiful but sad poem. Welcome to Passions, enjoy your stay!

Beautiful and very sad.  Losing to love is most painful but as long as we keep our hearts open we will always love again.

Danella this is so lovely.  The flow is so smooth and it seems to me that you are right at the place where you are telling your heart that you are ready to let go of the pain and began to search for love again.   James

Heart felt welcome come to you
You poem is nice bad sad so too
May the sky will bring the answer soon
Perhaps it's already hiding behind the moon
Very nice poem.

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Danella,
This is a beautiful poem.  It's hard to "learn how to love".  We take a lot of lumps on the way, too.  I know your pain all too well.  I have felt the engulfing Darkness you speak of - I have seen stars lose their luster as well.  Never give up - Love is out their waiting, it has to be.

The ghost of our past,
For too long do last,
Distracting our sight,
From the sweet sunlight.

Welcome here friend,
My greeting I send,
Pull up a chair,
And your stories please share.

Your first poem too !? Such a wonderful enterance and a great response. Good luck, pain goes away or is replaced by another. It is as much to do with choice as it is luck.
I wish you well, keep up the wonderful work.

Love...Q xxx
